I think Gomez deserves an appreciation thread.

The man has been playing lights out since about mid-October. He's been, by FAR, our best forward all year long.

Best pick-up the Rangers have had in a long, long time, in my honest opinion. I've never seen a guy hustle all game like he does on our team on the top lines outside of Marty Straka. It never seems like Gomez takes a break for a shift and flat out gives it his all each and every time he's on the ice. It's actually refreshing to see a player like that in the Rangers uniform since we're so used to the lazy ******* cast-aways that we signed in the past.

Gomez, if you keep playing like this every Rangers fan will love you. And I'll even buy your damn jersey.

still didnt deserve the contract he got. But hes playing as well or even better than I expected him to be. Drury on the other hand has disappointed me somewhat. i thought he was going to be the better of the 2. His intangibles are notable but i thought hed put the puck in the net more and come up clutch when we need him too like he did so many times last year in buffalo. So far hes only done it once and that was the first game of the season.

I agree the contract amount is ridiculous, but the contract length is good.

Gomez is an exciting player.

He does play hard and he has been producing at a point-per-game clip for quite awhile now. One of the main reasons why some Rangers fans aren't happy with him is because he just happens to not have instant chemistry with Jagr. I doubt that anyone would question is effort.

Honestly from a Devils fan(not going to bash): He didn't play like this with us, it seems that New York has changed him, he def is playing alot harder shift to shift now, i haven't seen him take shifts off(well there was one game but it was only one), he just seems to be overall trying alot harder now then he did with the Devils. I still wouldn't of minded having him back in Jersey but not with the contract he got. Luckily for you guys, although it's a high contract, he seems to be producing pretty well. Well although i want to say i'm glad he's working out... i can't because well you're our rivals.

He's been our best forward easily.

A+

He played hard against us.

I always got the feeling than Brodeur threatened to kill any Devil that loafed against the Rangers. Martin took so much pleasure from beating us.

He cuts through neutral zone defense like a knife through butter. So fun to watch

Insane contract, but so long as the forwards around him are scoring he will be a 70-80 point center like he was with NJ if he stays healthy

to be honest i love both signings......they will be better as the years go on because there will be less high-profile players here and they will be our leaders

Gomez has really impressed me with his defensive
responsibility as well as offensive skills. Especially when he goes on his end to end rushes. He is one exciting player

I can only think of two injuries to him I think one was from a teammate (White I believe) Ran into him and messed up his hand or wrist a few years ago. And last year was a groin injury though that was Juliens fault. He should be fine for his contract.

Gomez has exceeded my expectations! I knew he could fly but his passing (pp goal last night), his shooting and his overall game have been a pleasant surprise. He's been by far the best Ranger forward this season. Hats off to a great player!

Big deal. He's doing everything a hockey player is supposed to do (play hard, etc). Gomez brought in to make the whole team better and take the organization to the next level. When he does that, it will be time to give him an appreciation thread.

It seems to me like he's had at least 1 point in each of the last 20 games or so, but if that were true we'd be hearing Sam & Joe talking about the streak. But he's been the team's best and most consistent point producer since mid or late October.

It took me a while to get used to seeing him as a Ranger after all those years wearing Devils' red, but now it doesn't look strange at all.

Shanahan is second to Gomez for me. He leads the team in goals and is always the first one to jump in and defend his teammates when they get abused by opponents.
