“Interim” Tag Removed from Head Coach Bruce Boudreau

Bruce is officially the head coach now that his interim tag has been removed from his job title. A well earned christmas gift.

This is pointless.

Let me know if they give him an extension or more money. until then this means nothing.

It was pointless to tell him he was interim to begin with, as no coaching job is permanent. This at least corrects that and shows Bruce some due respect. Bruce is a realist sure but I suspect deep down he appreciates the temp tag being removed. With the secrecy of this organization, he could have gotten more money and you would never know.

With the interim label, they had the option that if he really stunk it up in the NHL, they could replace him with someone new, but it still left him the option to go back to Hersey where he has shown more than capable. Woods has the interim label in Hersey, so everyone could go back to the way things were if necessary. Bruce did well, he's official. Woods will probably now be official in Hersey.

I agree, it just shows no confidence in their own choice, Bruce. It shows that Ted and GMGM can barely judge own guys and a bigger problem. With full insight available from our own players, it is a no brainer to take him or not. A guy that has coached in the AHL as long as he has, and won it all, can do it here too. How could he have done worse than Hanlon? I think they had a real good look at him and should have known what they were getting. Heck, he was in Slapshot, what more do they need to see on his resume?
