I'd pick Lasch over Roe. Lasch ended up with a 14 game goalless streak and still finished with a team high 18 goals. He won't go through that again and I can see him getting in the 60's in points with Roe in the 50 range.

Denver is widely regarded as the cream of the crap this year. The defense is a little young and I'm not sold on Chevie being a clutch goalie, but they will only need decent goaltending with their offense. the 2-5 positions are anyone's guess.

He was in camp with Syracuse of the AHL on a tryout basis:

Apparently he suffered a concussion, so I don't know if he made the team. I know that only because of this

The school hopes to have a member of last season's team to help with the banner raising. They are checking into the availability of winger Matt Greer, a 2008-09 captain, who suffered a concussion Sept. 25 while playing a preseason game with the American Hockey League's Syracuse Crunch.

I noticed my Huskies beat the other Huskies tonight, which is weird, because well, it's Tech, and two, it's Friday night, and we usually don't do well on Fridays (or Saturdays usually, but on Sat, we're usually at least competitive).

Tech has been showing signs of life this year as the we've come to expect from them in previous years. If you take into account all the injuries from last year, the relative inexperience and the departure of "Red Light" Rob Nolan then you have reason to hope for a competitive year. Winter Carnival might be festive in Houghton this year...as long as the Badgers aren't in town again.

It's Duluth this year, which should still make for a really good series, as Duluth is good, and they're only about 6 hours away.

Actually, I've been thinking about going up to Houghton that weekend, shame I haven't been back since I graduated, only problem would be finding a room closer than Baraga.

Only our 3rd loss to Tech this decade, all 3 have been in Houghton and this was the first one in regulation. Good thing is the D has been there and for the most part so has the goaltending, we just need to get more scoring. I like that the scoring we have gotten has been balanced, we just need more of it.

Well we never did bet. But 6 points in 8 games( 3g and 3a). Too bad we did not score in three games.

Great. It's early. Hell right now Tony Mosey is SCSU's leading goal scorer, and I don't expect that to last either.

Here is a list of some good blogs from various WCHA teams. Even if you're not a fan of the teams these blogs are entertaining and informative. Enjoy....

Denver: http://letsgodu.blogspot.com/ This is probably the best all around blog from the humorous homers in Boone country. Think of the Onion sports page with real information. The best reading is when DU is going to play NoDak.

Wisconsin: http://noalibisnoregrets.blogspot.com/ "All about Men's and Women's Wisconsin Badger Hockey...including future, current and forever Badgers". I don't need to tell anyone that the best reading is during weekends with Minnesota. Gandalf, 60, Chuck and Exile on Dayton Street always have there finger on the pulse of all things Bucky.

Duluth: http://runninwiththedogs.blogspot.com/ AKA "the little blog that could". RWTD is a overcaffeinated one woman show out of the enemy territory of St. Louis Park (near Gopher ground zero). The fixation of her beloved team makes for some good reading...one of my personal favorites.

North Dakota: http://ndgoon.blogspot.com/ Mostly concerned with Fighting Sioux hockey, but Goon pays a lot of attention to the NHL and team USA on all levels. I'd say he's the hardest working guy in the hockey blogosphere and always has good information to look at.

Alaska Anchorage: http://uaafan.blogspot.com/ "A web log for me to spew whatever I feel like while providing more original hockey content than any other single college hockey blogger on the internet". This blog is sometimes disturbing (I think the long nights are taking their toll on Donald Dunlap) but there is no question about DDs dedication to Sea-pup hockey...what a thankless job.

The Manakato blog just folded recently and for my money Rabid Husky's St. Cloud thread on this board is the best source of info for that team.

I thank you Rabid Badger. For other info on SCSU, there is always the media blog on the SC Times website.

I hope everyone had a good Christmas/Hannukah, and whatever you may have celebrated. There isn't much in college hockey right now with the dreadfully long holiday break so focus is on the WJCs. There are 11 collegiate players on team USA this year and 7 of those are from the WCHA. They are:

Goalie: Mike Lee, St. Cloud

Defense: John Ramage, Wisconsin
Jake Gardiner, Wisconsin
Matt Donovan, Denver

Forwards: Danny Kristo, North Dakota
Jordan Schroeder (Alternate Captain), Minnesota
Derek Stepan (Captain), Wisconsin

Once and future WCHA coach extraordinare Dean Blais of Nebraska is running the show with defensive specialist Mark Osieki of Wisconsin on board as an assistant coach. That's a pretty good representation from the W, especially with Stepan and Schroeder being in leadership roles.

Team USA beat Slovakia in its first game. Mike Lee was the winning goaltender. Matt Donovan had the GWG, Jordan Scroeder had a goal, Danny Kristo had a goal and an assist, Derek Stepan had a goal and two helpers.

I hate Tech hockey so much anymore - 6-2 loss to UAA tonight, at home.

This is beginning to remind me of FireWatters tenure, start off decent, show glimpses of turning it around (relatively speaking), but instead take a pretty nasty nosedive.

The run we have been on has been great, and what's more amazing is it's different guys each night. If you had told me that 26 games into the season, neither Lasch nor Roe would be averaging a point per game, I'd have thought we'd be in big trouble but guys like LeBlanc, Festler, Eddy, Hanowski, Mosey and now Raboin have stepped up and this is a balanced scoring team and it's been fun to see.

I know Sconie is good, but I'm at the point, I wish Tech would just drop hockey, at least at D1.
