Balej: How many?

After 44 games Jo has 23goals. He is on paste for 42.

He is 2 behind the league leader Jeff Hamilton who has 25, but he is currently on the IR.

What I am asking is how many goals do you think Josef Balej will end up with by the end of the season. Please take into consideration that he has been steaming since Christmas.

Since December 28th Balej has averaged 1.333 GPG.

How many goals will he end up if he is not called up, or injured.

Also just a stat you might be interested in, but if he continues to average 1.3333 goals a game for the next 36 games (almost impossible) he would get 48 goals.

My estimation going by his recent play is 50.

What do you guys think he'll end up with. 50 would be a hell of an accomplishment, and who could have possily predicted that at the start of the season.

Since you say he is on pace for 42, that'll be my guess. 42 goals!

Well with the nic Jozeph_Balej, I would of been real surprised if you predicted he would go into a scoring slump and end the year in the ECHL! :p

i say 23*12/34 +3 - 4e-14 + sqrt(4-3*pi)...

eum...26 goals cause he'll finish the year in montreal!!!

What if he gets called up to Montreal in the next week or so and impresses so much that they never bother to send him back?

Just thought I'd spread a 'good cheer' thought.

I say he scores 35 because he will start scoring some in the NHL with Montreal when we make a deadline deal involving Perreault.

Ya I also have a serious feeling that Balej is going to end the year as Ward did last year... With a spot almost guaranteed to be his for the next season, because of his good play here... But if he were to stay in the minors...

I believe he'd hit 50... A precise number of 54...

54G - 44 A 98 Pts...

If he's not the best player outside the NHL ... He deserves some praise at least for being oh so close

I have no idea, but for a guy who scored 5 goals last year, he's far exceded my expectations and then some. He's been on fire, and has been scoring some great looking goals.

montreal is online now

Balej's emergence brings an interesting problem to the table for next year. We'll have a jam at right wing with Ryder, Zednik and now Balej. Even though it's too early to tell, if he comes to camp next August playing the way he's playing now, Gainey will have an important decision to make. I'd hate to see him on the 3rd or 4th line getting 10 or less minutes. This kid needs a top two lines spot. The least we can say is that we're pretty much covered for the RWers for a good time with Ryder, Balej and Perezhogin.

Oh, my prediction for Balej this year is 45 goals.

Interesting but nice problem to have

The easy solution is to move Zednik onto the first line as a left winger which some ppl here have been hoping for.

This would give us 2 solid top lines:

Zednik Koivu Ryder
Bulis RIbeiro Balej

Later on (2, 3 years)

Kast Koivu Zednik
Perez Ribeiro? Balej
Bulis Plekanec Higgins
Hossa Begin Ward

damn that would kill *drool*

Yep, it's quite an interesting problem. I like your roster, but the fourth line needs an enforcer. Langdon is making a big difference right now because he knows how to fight, brings some leadership and he defends his team mates. And where is Ryder ?

Then you could predict 23 goals.

o man...how could I forget Ryder...blasphemy!!!

ok it would be more like

Kast Koivu Zednik
Perez Higgins Balej
Bulis Plekanec Ryder
Langdon Begin Ward

makes you wonder what we are going to do with players like Hossa, Ribeiro and some of the other prospects that havent even had a full year in the pros yet (ie Milroy, Ferland (potental 4th liner imo), Uruqart, Lapierre).

Also in the next few years we will be drafting new prospects....

Are you Nostradamus or what?

La Presse reports that he's been called-up. Anyway, I think Gainey wants to give him NHL experience, like he did to Plekanec. Great plan!

But as Guy! said what if he impresses everyone by scoring a couple of goals or something. I wonder if he will be givin a legimate shot at showcasing his skillz. I hope so because I really think he is ready to produce in the NHL now. I can't wait to see him play, hopefully tommorrow night if not it would be great to see him play against the LEafs on HNIC@!

The thing is: I don't think he will score, for one reason: he'll be playing with Juneau or such...Our two scorings lines are untouchables.

He'll probably start the game there, but he may see some power play time, and if Dagenais is as bad as he was on Tuesday, he may even get a few minutes with Ribs (it depends on the score of course...)
