HUGE game, once again

I say play Henke back to back.. we need this one tonight. I'd rather face the Habs knowing we have 2 pts already banked than having to beat them with nothing to show for it from tonights game

Great sports nite. You have to live the atmosphere for HNIC games and I'll be flipping between this and Giants/Pats.

Lets finish off the year strong.
Yeah Raycroft is definitely in net for the Leafs. Toskala's out with a groin injury. Belak is also in.

Anyway great GDT guys, if you're wondering about ours, don't ask . Good luck tonight (but not too much ).

Good defensive player in Hossa vs one of the top offensive teams in the east...I think this is a perfect game for Hossa over Orr.

Betts and Hossa on the same line is a line I wouldnt mind seeing out vs the other teams top line.

so if Belak is in and Orr is out and say Belak hits Prucha and prucha gets hurt,i guess we will need Shanny or Avery to stick up for Prucha or whoever Belak or Tucker hit if Orr is out. I hope Struds plays over Malik tonight. Orr must play tonight

We don't know if Orr is out yet.

But as Stajan14 said, Raycroft definitely in, and Belak in.

Rangers I believe is a tossup between Orr and Hossa and Lundqvist and Valiquette,

although I think since Belak is dressed, Orr will dress, and Lundqvist will still play. Sam's blog will tell us more later....

really anyone fighting Belak doesn't serve as a deterrent at all. there's lots of ways to get back at another team, not having Orr in makes it harder, but not impossible. but I don't we should be making lineup decisions based defending our 2 goal scorer.

I think Hossa should be in, but I don't think it should be for Orr. there are a couple guys who I think bring less than both of them at this stage.

Valiquette is getting the nod

Dubinsky might not play(flu)

Quote:
Rather, having pulled out a 3-2 shootout win here on Nov. 10 by starting Steve Valiquette in goal, Renney will go to the rangy backup to Henrik Lundqvist again tonight when the Rangers take on the Maple Leafs at Air Canada Centre.

Presuming Valiquette gets through the entire game, that will leave a rested Lundqvist to play tomorrow night in the Garden, when his tired teammates might need a big effort from him against the recently-impressive Montreal Canadiens. Renney also did not rule out Lundqvist playing in all three games on the Western Canada trip that begins Jan. 2 in Calgary

Hopefully Vally can pull another out up in Toronto and Lundqvist can come back with a good stretch of games against the Canadian teams.

This could be a big game tonight to get them on a nice roll or the start of another disastrous stretch.

They need to have some consistency in their game. Play solid D, let Vally see the pucks. Stay out of the box, dont get down if you are down and score more goals than Toronto tonight. Oh and HIT. thatll slow down the Maple Leafgs attack. Too much room for them in the two losses against.

Another good game for Jagr?

How about getting a little run started and at least 3 points from this back to back?

Then scratch Hollywood. Orr MUST dress EVERY game as far as Im concerned. He is the enforcer, it's his #1 job imo. No one else on the Rangers has any real deterrent factor going for them either. He might not have to fight, but teams know he can break faces.

Must protect the elites

Hope Valli plays a good game. Getting 2 points will be huge tonight considering the Rangers will be playing a rested Montreal team tomorrow night that is playing quite well right now.

Who centers the 3rd line? Hollweg? Betts? Cally? Not sure what would work better.

Prucha-Betts-Cally & Hossa-Hollweg-Orr
or
Prucha-Hollweg-Cally & Hossa-Betts-Orr
or
Hossa-Cally-Prucha & Hollweg-Betts-Orr

This game is in the bag for the Rangers..the Leafs have a truly horrid Win/Loss record vrs career backup's and nothing will change tonight. The Leafs just can't beat a back-up!!
