either way, the Rangers are going to have to persevere and hope the bad ice affects the Habs more than the Rangers since NYR is used to playing on crappy ice. Henrik is going to have to be a little extra sharp today if the puck starts bouncing alot too.

i can see it now Rangers dump the puck, Huet goes to play it and it bounces off the boards and into the net for the GW. I got a feeling a fluke goal will be scored tonight hopefully its for the Rangers and they win the game.

That would be interesting if anyone had any information.
This is pure speculation on my part, but I would think that in a case like this, where both leagues need access to the same arena, they have to coordinate with the team/arena presidents. And of course that would be Dolan. And since he treats the Rangers like an afterthought (thank god), I'm sure he's going to give his Knicks the best situation he can. Because we all know they deserve it soooooo much.

Of course, it also might be completely out of his hands. Like I said, just speculation. But how can someone pass up a chance to rip Dolan?

Tough game. Use the momentum from the Carolina and Toronto games to carry over and play tough hard 60 minute hockey and we've got a good shot.

And the Rangers head back to Canada this week. Probably would have been wise to just do a 5 game road trip in Canada, although the players do get to spend new years at home with their families.

You can bet that's what he'll be up to,
he'll bring little Marc Staal and Ryan Callahan along, get the ladies to like Marc's alien face...

I posted in the ticket thread too if anyone is interested in selling their seats for tonight... need 3. asap so I can make the drive.
nyr hold tickets for staff/players etc and if any are left over they release about an hour before gametime. unlikely this game will have any avail though.

even when they have away games over an extended period like that, usually they travel home at some point inbetween if there was time to do so. if this game was in montreal they probably would have traveled home after the game.

According to who or what?

The Habs board has no mention of this.

well tsn is reporting habs called up a forward who will be ready to play in tonights game, so that could mean someone isnt playing, possibly koivu...

http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=226145&hubname=nhl

per tsn...
The Montreal Canadiens recalled forward Corey Locke from the Hamilton Bulldogs of the American Hockey League. Locke will join the team in New York today and should be available for tonight's game against the Rangers.

If that's the extent of the evidence, then "flimsy" is being far too generous.

If the new guy is in the lineup, I seriously doubt it's to replace their uninjured captain and best player.

Ahh now that's a little more substantial. Can't say I'd be sorry to see Koivu miss this one. But if he's even barely capable of playing, he'll play.

Well atleast we know who to blame if we lose now don't we?

he was used sparingly vs the Cats also...but he did record an assist, and won 57% of his faceoffs...the Habs fold like a cheap suit when Koivu is not in the lineup...

Rangers win 4-3 in reg. Goals by Avery Tyutin Dubinsky and Jagr. Im guessing Lundqvist in net.
