This is a game we SHOULD win. Edmonton is banged up just like us. As long as our 4th line doesn't get more time than our top line, we should be fine. 3-1 Jackets!

Also, WapakFrenzy, familiar with the Lima area? If so, thats where I live.

lol. I can't stand NW Ohio. Maybe if the nearest ice rink wasn't all the way in Findlay I would stay here after I turn 18.

HI ALL!!!

Will not make Rbar pregame but will be there after dinner at GB to ring in the New Year.

If we play like we did against Carolina We win.

If I make it on the Big Screen again we win.

We need to win because Edmonton friends are coming in from out of town and tradition dictates loser picks up the bar tab.

GO JACKETS!!!!

CBJ 4 Edmonton 2

I can't wait for tonight's game. The Jackets should be able to win. I'll say 2-1 Jackets. Russell gets his first career goal, and Novotny adds the other.

This is one of those DREADED "we should win this one" games that the Jackets love to lose.

I'll be there yelling, and sreaming, hoping for the best.

Happy New Year everyone.

The Blue Jackets are usually pretty good on New Year's Eve at home. I think we win this one comfortably.

4-1 Jackets - Z stays hot with a goal and 3 assistseses

If I recall, the last time we went up against one of the worst power plays in the league we gave up several goals. We can't be doing that tonight. The boys can have their hangover tomorrow, just not the usual one we get after a win. We haven't strung 2 in a row since Halloween - that needs to change tonight.

Based on what my sales lady told me it sounds like a packed house is in order. That will be sweet for the team as they step it up for those crowds. Boll will be a whirling dirvish. I predict he gets the Gordie Howe hat trick.

I'll be at the R pre, but probably not post. Have to haul it back here to ring in the New Year. JV20 - WapakFrenzy and I both live in Wapak, so we know the area quite well.

This is another game we SHOULD win, but alas, it's the game before a holiday and the game after an impressive win. If this pattern continues, Jackets lose 3-1.

Won't be at game tonight as tailgating for tomorrow's Winter Classic will begin at 2pm today (no, I'm not going, but I am combo-ing New Year's Eve and the Pens-Sabres game into one giant drinkfest). So going to the CBJ game would present a problem as the police frown on driving drunk, which is what I'd be doing on my way home if I went.

So with beer in one hand and beer in the other hand.....I "look forward" to hearing Danny Gare yell "kabooooooom!!!!!" about 5 times tonight. Let's go Jackets!!!(and Pens!!!)

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!!!!!!!!!!

Will you be playing the Rimmer drinking game? That in itself will have you hammered by the end of the first period. Happy New Year!

According to the Puck-Rakers blog here's the lines tonight:

Nash -- Beech -- Vyborny
Chimera -- Novotny -- Zherdev
Glencross -- Fedorov -- Lindstrom
Shelley -- Fritsche -- Boll

Tollefsen is again a healthy scratch

http://blog.dispatch.com/cbj/

I decided to post this because it's different from the projected starters in the first post.

LOL!....I tried the Rimer drinking game about a month ago. I don't remember anything after the 11 minute mark of the second period, except, Gare yelling something like..."tricky, Nicki, dicky!!!". I drank to that and passed out!!!

It sure would've been nice to see Murray -- Fritsche -- Boll instead.
