Jackets are improved but I'm still not convinced, as many have suggested here, that there are any "games this team should win." It will feel good if they can duplicate the effort from the other night and get the W.

Also, someone please take time to explain to me what exactly a Blue Jacket is this year.
The Blue Jacket was worn by Union Army soldiers in our Civil War. The state of Ohio provided more soldiers to the Union Army than any other state and played an important role in the war.
The Union cap is also prominately displayed on the shoulders of our jerseys.
The name has always been about the Civil War connection and not a bee!
Stinger is a mascot (See the San Diego Chicken, Phillie Phanatic, etc)
So how many hundreds of USA dollars should I plan to spend at this dive called the Rbar tonite? Is the Anteater90 known as a raging alcoholic at this establishment?
My guess is that he can drink MacTavish under the table....that is saying a lot!

Visiting team's fans always have a better experience if they start by buying a round for everyone in the RBar.

Jared Boll Fight Probability
12/31/2007 - Edmonton Oilers
Factors:
Opponent Roster:Edmonton has Zack Stortini dressed, along with possible middleweights Souray, Torres, and Staios.
History: The teams have not had a fight in the one game they have played this season. Edmonton won that game 3-1.
Other factors: Jared Boll's actions in his fight against Tim Gleason on Saturday suggest that his right hand isn't completely healthy. Edmonton is on a losing streak and may be face-punchingly desperate for a home win.
Conclusion: Zack Stortini leads Edmonton in fighting majors and penalty minutes. He's their version of Jared Boll. To me, Stortini screams louder than any other factor. I know it's the tilt that everybody wants to see. I'm so optimistic about a potential Stortini-Boll duel that I'm ignoring all other factors and giving this one my highest probability rating so far.
Glad this game is starting at six..it let's me watch it all since I'll be leaving at around the same time the game finishes.
BTW is this game sold out?
I tried looking for available tickets at les ticketbastard. All I got back were SRO or some $165 HD lounge seats. My guess is it's close enough for government work.

I still make the 75 minute trip to Kewpee about once / month.
Isn't there a rink in Lima? We practiced (BGSU Hockey Club) in Lima until the arena at BG was completed. Of course this was in 1966-67, so I imagine things could have changed.

Don't think so. I DO know there is an inline rink when heading toward the Lima Mall from downtown, right before the bridge. Though, I may be wrong.
Just want to make sure eveyone knows. Tonight's game is at 6:00, with Blue Jackets Ice Breaker at 5:30. I thought it was at 7:00, just don't want anyone to hafta miss the first period.

Its been gone since probably the late 70's or so? Before my time, anyway. My dad used to play middle school hockey there. The building is still there, though.
Probably a loss considering the pattern this team does. Weird things happen at the NYE games, so maybe we'll break the pattern and pull out the win. 5-3 Jackets

Well, there was, until a little bit before my birth if I am correct (1991). It then became a supermarket, and is now Lima's new flea market.
The disappointing part is that it was supposed to become an ice rink again, but the buyer backed out on his offer for the lot.

Or maybe it was taken away earlier than I thought...
