Was at the game...didnt make it to the Rbar...grrrrrrrrrrrr...wife...bla bla.

Great game. Thought we were going to see some fireworks in the first with Boll and Shelly.

PL played very well...that goal he let in was a ROCKET by Staios.

The game also made keep on hating Fedorov. Pulls up on every check. He was 2 feet in front of their goal with the puck bouncing around...and he is just standing there...with his stick OFF THE ICE!!! Cant wait to get rid of him.

Chimmer also leaves a little to be desired.

D played well. Foote gets away with SO MUCH...its funny as HELL....He just clubs people back there!!!!

I've only seen the hat trick case once or twice..

Do they have a list of the players in CBJ history who have had a hat trick while playing for Columbus?

If not, that'd be pretty awesome to have.

Last season I did not like Hainsey! My nickname for him was "crackhead!" This season he's come a long way, evident in his 4? goals thus far. And he looks much more comfortable in his role on the ice!

Tyler Wright has more hat-tricks than Nash? Nice.

I didn't want to start a new thread but I was wondering how Fedorov has looked so far this year and has he played any games on defense like last year???

Imho Feds has been solid, not spectacular, but solid. He really seems to have lost a lot on his shot. I think he has arthritis in his elbows, so that could be the reason.

He has looked great at times, and not so good at others. But he helps the team in so many ways, that you can forgive him for his drop off in scoring.

Now is he worth his price tag? No. But he is still an assett.

No, he has not played defense this year.

...and to those bashing him hard - - - I am not completely defending him as I, too, wish he was more productive on the score sheet. BUT, watch him on the ice. He is so efficient in his movement and positioning. He is truly one step ahead of most other players. Just watch him for a full shift. He wastes no energy and is always predicting where a pass will go. Think about watching Picard chase the puck, and then think about the way Fedorov moves.

I do think his skills are in a serious decline, and he is currently dealing with accepting that fact. Like when a pitcher loses his 97 mph fastball, and needs to learn to deal with a, 87 mph fastball, a 79 mph slider and a 73 mph change - spotting each. There is the personal acceptance of the fact that your skills are not what they were.

And, like a great baseball utility player (although @ 6M, overpaid I admit), who else could play on any line and make his game fit everyone around him, win faceoffs, kill penalties, play any spot on the PP, coach, and play D as needed. No matter the circumstances, Hitch could close his eyes and put Fedorov in and be okay.

I suspect that he will take a trade to Detroit, then a one year deal from them and retire. Although I think he could play another 4 years on defense.

You'll find a variety of opinions. His present role speaks for itself. He's working with Glencross and whoever is on the right side that night. He's minutes are declining, as well they should based on a variety of factors, of which includes his age. His play has been more inspired over the last week or so, but for most of the year my personal opinion is that he's been slacking. His recently more inspired play seems tied to playing with guys like Glencross and Boll. He has been somewhat vocal about how he enjoys playing with those kind of guys.

His 5 on 5 time is slowly being reduced while he still logs some extended specialty team play. Basically he's slowly being phased out. We don't exactly have a lot of options, at this point, for the PP. So Feds and Vyborny will continue to log extended minutes there..

Some have said he's been solid this year. I'm not a huge fan of the +/- stat, but most of our forwards are trending toward being + players, Feds and Vyborny are the two worst forwards on our team in that regards. At least Federov has stablized there and at least become an even player over the last 10 games or so. That stat is what it is. But when you have guys up around the +5 mark and he's sitting at -6, take it for what it's worth.

He is what he is. He'll chip in with the occasional point. At least he's seem to have stopped the tendancy for that moronic play that directly leads to a goal like he did a few times at the beginning of the year, which lead directly to a couple of loses. He also seems to have stopped with the occasional moronic penalty that made you scratch your head and wonder what he was thinking.

Personally I think at some point, as his cap/salary hit declines, we'll trade him at some point. Some will argue that trading him while we are in the hunt is stupid, I can see there point. However, I don't think he's part of the future and if we have depth at one thing, it's depth centers. When Brassard comes up, and it seems very clear he will, Fed's minutes will probably be best spent on developing other players. At least, that's my opinion.

Have a good one.

Trying to remember the other night and couldn't but don't the Bluejackets make a charity contribution for every hat thrown to the ice? Keep thinking I heard that on a broadcast at some time and can't remember who it is too or if they even still do it.
