Wings are rolling right now. I know the Kings usually play them tough, but I just don't see it happening tonight. Kings will be geeked up trying to prove that even with an AHL team they can keep up with the best of them. But I think the veteran leadership of the Wings will hold and come thru with the win by scoring twice in the 3rd period.
Wings 3, Kings 1.

Well, I'll be there, but I'm not expecting much. Not much for predictions. And yes, Hull loves playing the Kings, he's scored a lot of his milestone goals against the Kings, he'll score a couple tonite I bet including a PPG.
While Datsyuk ended a seven-game drought, Brett Hull hasn't scored in 20 contests since ripping a one-timer past Kings goaltender Roman Cechmanek 1:51 into overtime to give Detroit a 3-2 home win on December 8. It is the longest drought of Hull's career.
a win tonight would be awsome,The Wings are playing the second of back to back games tonight and did not play to well last night in Anahiem, hopefully we can catch them at the beginning of a slump.

Goals by Frolov and Klatt for the Kings and Kelly for the Wings.
Scott Barney with another assist, giving him 4 points in the 5 games he's played since being called up.
The goal by Detroit was deflected in and Cechmanek was screened also. No one really even saw it go in and there was no way Cechmanek could have gotten to it. He's looked very solid in net again, stopping a breakaway by Detroit to keep it (at the time) a 1-0 Detroit lead.

He just might be a keeper. Not only is he scoring but he is playing physical as well. From what I understand, the Kings didn't want to call him up earlier because they wanted him to find his niche instead of bouncing back and forth but it just might be possible that he is up for the long haul now.
Also, Esa Pirnes has also played well since getting called up. He is snakebitten right now but the talent is there. Possibly another Eric Belanger-type?
Oh, and Frolov's goal is why Norstrom is in the All Star Game and Schnieder isn't.
Detroit is just more active than the Kings right now. They're getting to all the loose pucks and Bob said it best - the Kings are looking like whenever they have the puck they just want to get rid of it.
Can anyone (maybe one of the Wings fans possibly reading this right now) tell me what type of system Detroit runs when they have the puck? It's not like anything I've seen before. I can diagram it, but I don't know what to call it (or if it even has a name).
Detroit comes back with a pair of goals in the 2nd period and now lead 3-2. Cechmanek started to look a little shaky in the 2nd, but settled down and made some nice saves late.
The 2nd Detroit goal was another deflection where two Wings were parked right in front of the net and no one was within shouting distance of them to clear them out. The 3rd Detroit goal was a slapshot with only a partial back-swing from Schneider from inside the left face-off circle. Again, no one was near him, except this time Cechmanek actually had a good look at it. The shot snuck in past his shoulder and the Wings took a 3-2 lead.
This was a great pass by Frolov, but, this play all starts w/ Corvo keeping the puck in, and Jozef Stumpel making a great pass as well. That was the best PP ive seen all year by the Kings.
