www.channelsurfing.net might have them, that's how I'm getting the TSN WJC coverage and they have some NHL games listed.
Nope, channelsurfing doesn't have the game tonight. No idea about the other two games. Now I just have to figure out how sopcast works before the game starts...

Jeez, I used to wonder why I never messed with this stuff
I hope I can figure this out before game time, I just can't miss this game
I absolutely hate that the next three games won't be on FSN however in the long run it's probably a blessing in disguise do I won't be up until 1 AM or later anymore due to the West Coast swing while having to get up the next morning (er, that day).
yea i know its so dumb that FSN Ohio wont show the games, i look foward to that broadcast when i turn on my NHL Centre ice package, so know for 3 games in a row i have to listen to FSN West (Ducks) FSN West (KIngs) & FSN Bay Area (Sharks) thats gonna sucks, but still i will be able to see the jackets in action.
why does FSN Ohio have these blackouts on certain games anyway?

Their contract is only for 75 games.

So do you think it's because FSN is cheap? Or because the NHL artificially limits the total number of games that can be carried local in order to pimp CI? I think I'll ask...
Listening to Danny Gare stumble, bumble and trip all over his own words, incorrectly call replays, call players by the wrong name or mispronounce names (Sirgee Federov) is utterly painful. And Rimer is just plain cheesy and annoying. I long for the days of Dan Kelly or Engblom. Can we start a petition to get Rimer/Gare replaced for 08/09?

I am not sure. Maybe it has to do with leaving openings for NBC/Vs to pick up games. I would think the Blue Jackets let NBC/Vs pick their games first and then FSN takes their 75 out of what is left. This year they only picked up one game but last year they picked 3 or 4 games (that they later dropped). I would also think that if in mid season NBC wanted to pick up a that FSN has FSN will drop there coverage and pick up another game. But I may be way off.

Man with the luck FSN has had with hiring on-air personalities I shudder to think of who they'd throw in next (except Engblom which was a stroke of luck).

Its bad, I think its the worst CBJ broadcasting I've ever seen. I personally think Danny Gare is great guy, but man he is not articulate, and I think thats kind of important for the job. I thought he'd get the hang of things midseason, but it actually sounds worse now than it did before.
Rimer is flat out annoying.
I listened to that game last night on Anaheim NHL radio and it was great. They complimented the Jackets when appropriate, spent a good while discussing Brule, but most importantly they called the game without bias.
Good points Nordique - Also for those of you who also saw the Ducks' broadcast was pretty good as well. The main announcer called the game, and the color guy jumped in at the appropriate times. No drunken war stories, no John Madden tellestrator debaucles, no emo glasses .
I have nothing against the two personally - they seem like nice guys but you have to know that you are announcing games on a professional level and as a franchise we have yet to see it with the exception being Engblom.
I watched the game on Sopcast, which worked really well btw.....anyway the Ducks announcers were talking about the outdoor game with Sabres, and started going on and on about how the Ohio State Buckeyes stadiums holds alot of people and could host an outdoor Hockey game...it was pretty cool to hear people out there talking about our stadium.
I think Rimer/Gare are a great combo for the Jackets. I like the fact they actually seem to enjoy the game and want to be there, Gare's comments and "style" of announcing only add to the fun in my opinion.
The stiffness in the announcing that was there before is NOT missed.
My wife and I keep track of the screw ups by Gare each game, mainly the incorrect calls on plays that seem plain as day and the mispronunciation of names. That and I always joke about his little fat sausage fingers.
I guess I'm in the minority, but I like Danny Gare. Rimmer, is ok, but I could do without being called the Panthers every game. And its frustrating when he announces the penalty to the wrong team, ect.
There's no doubt the two are homers, but I like that in my own announcers. I feel like they care about the team and are rooting as fans while doing thier job. I know they aren't necessarily supposed to do that, but I'm surprised that doesn't make them more endearing to Jackets fans. Obviously, I'd be shocked if any opposing teams' fans like them since they are totally pro Jackets the entire telecast. But I don't care if the opposing fans like them or not.
