yea i know it sucks when you have black outs in certain areas, but the jackets games are only broadcast on 1 channel am i right? (FSN Ohio) and i live in toronto and if i want to watch the leafs game, i have to tone to 1 of 4 channels that could possibley be showing the game, and they also have a channel where u have to pay to see the game its really dumb to do that, i just want to watch the game, i dont want to pay for a game, but anyways i hope FSN Ohio isnt doing that by makeing certain games pay per views because that would not go over well with many people includeing myself.

GO JACKETS!!!!

This year they only picked up one game but last year they picked 3 or 4 games (that they later dropped). I would also think that if in mid season NBC wanted to pick up a that FSN has FSN will drop there coverage and pick up another game. But I may be way off.
Heard today that the reason is cost.
Wonder why they just don't pay for the westcoast feed instead?
A little reciprocity you'd think would go a long way.

I like them too, but I can't agree that they do a great job. I think Gare would be fine if he would just play to his strengths(not tele-strating or tossing out catchy one liners). I like Rimms alot to talk to after the games, and when he is on 1460, but he can't call a game objectively and that really bothers me for some reason.

I like them because I like my broadcast teams to be homers. For instance, I love Dave Lapham on the Bengals radio broadcast. He's as unprofessional as it gets in that regard I suspect, but that's okay by me.

Gare is like my father-in-law.

Personally, I like the homey guys. Sportscenter I hate.

I think the telestrator is good schtick. When it actually works right, I'm disappointed.

I don't understand that either, especially since tonight they are showing mens basketball UCLA v Stanford in stead. Why?

.... because it's UCLA vs Stanford.
Wish hockey had that kind of audience and treatment.

I wonder if CSTV (Columbus Sports TV or whatever it is) would be able to pick up a game or two at some point in the future. They've got the Destroyers. The coverage may not be great, but it's better than nothing.

Nationally I understand that College hoops > NHL hockey, but I think the CBJ vs LA would outdraw that basketball game on FSN Ohio at 10:30pm on a Thursday night.

For those of you with center ice. If they lift the blackout again tonight you should be in for at least half a treat. The Kings play by play man is Bob Miller. He has been calling hockey for well over 30 years. Some of you will know his voice from the mighty ducks movie. Unfortunately his broadcast partner is Jimmy Fox and he has a really annoying upturn in his voice. The play by play tonight should be very good.

No - as of right now, no one is streaming our game. The person that was supposed to stream our game is doing the canucks/rangers game instead...so I am waiting to see if someone will pick it up.

It is wrong and has not been updated. If you read through the posts you will see that there currently is no feed.

Your only hope is to have NESN (Sopcast Channel 25448) pick up the game...but I have not heard back from him yet.

It looks like a go on DirecTV CI.....channel 780@10:30pm...... I hope Tom Reed finds a bar in N.O. owned by a guy from the North East or Canada, he has been shipped out of Columbus to cover the big game Monday and wants to watch the Jackets tonight....

Not to take money out of Mike and Natalie's cash register but Champps restaurants have Center Ice as well. ***Intended for use only by those who would not consider going to the Arena District***

No worries, but I doubt they will let you listen to the game. We actually turn the jukebox off and the "surround sound" on for all games home and away. I think it is easier to watch the game at the bar too as we have TV's no farther then ten feet from your eyes. But can't bash Champps for trying to bring in new customers.

Anyone know why FSN only broadcasts some home games in HD and not all? And I don't believe any of the away games are HD either, are they? HD should be mandatory for all NHL broadcasts.

$ and equipment. Last year I was told by a reliable source that HD 'trucks' were in short supply.

If you would show these westcoast games earlier I would come over. Slacker.

I'd guess that the cost would be why. Even the NFL leaves out a game or two every week from being HD.

They NHL is moving toward having all games in HD--I read this somewhere if I can find the link I'll post it. Give it a couple years and I bet they all will be.
