So, this game should be on Center Ice, right? I mean, they HAVE lifted the ban for out of market games that FSN Ohio isn't carrying, yes?

Kinda surprised OKT is scratched when Hitch talked about how physical a game it will be, which was his reason for playing Murray over Glencross.

Murray over Glencross? Bad idea. I like the way Lindstrom plays though...

I'll also say that I haven't seen much from Murray, I'd much rather have Glencross in there.

According to NHL.com, we're actually in last place in the NHL when it comes to road games...Not a good sign. And the Ducks have had a resurgance ever since their former captain returned....This will not be an easy game

But I saw no reason to change it since Mac had already posted it in the GDT thread .. But Anywhoo.. Lets Keep building off of the great games played here at the end of the year and get a win !!!

It's going to be a close game I think, but we squeak one out.

No we aren't, that honor would go to Tampa Bay. We have so few road points because we played the least amount of road games.

Jared Boll Fight Probability
Anaheim Ducks - 01/02/2008

Factors:
Opposing Roster:
Anaheim is stacked with fighters. They are tied for the NHL lead in fights this season with 36. They have FOURTEEN roster players with at least one NHL fight. Brad May is out of the Ducks' lineup due to injury.

History:
Boll fought Travis Moen in Anaheim's 2-1 shootout win over Columbus this season. Anaheim is 2-1 in the season series.

Other factors:
Jared Boll's hand may still be hurt, noting how he shied away from an obviously willing Stortini in Monday's win over Edmonton. There is speculation that his slightly recurring hand injury may have been aggravated in his fight with Kings' defenseman Tim Gleason.
This is the teams' last meeting of the regular season.

Conclusion:
I was wrong about Stortini, and that was most likely because of injury. However, he's had a couple days of rest, and this is a completely new environment. When Columbus plays Anaheim, there is always a slew of penalties. Whether they are from fighting majors will remain to be seen. Boll could be looking for revenge against Moen; he may be looking for a title fight against Parros; he may simply be looking to rough somebody up to gain the Jackets some momentum if they're down a goal. One way or the other, it's not a stretch of anyone's imagination to predict at least one fight at the Pond tonight.

Probability:
70%

Capn said he'd be wearing his Zherdev jersey tonight at the game.

Zherdev makes him look good with a 3 point night for a 3-2 Jackets win.

Should be a great physical game. Could go either way. I'll say the Jackets score twice, with Nash and Chimera finally busting his slump notching the goals. Hopefully it's enough to win.

I fully expect thier to be at least one or two fights also. Obviously, Boll and Shelley are the likely candidates.

Can't wait for this one to start!

I really hope not-I like Boll, but he's not in Parros' class, in size, weight, or fighting ability. Boll should stick with the middleweights and light heavies.

It's listed on ch 778 and I did hear something about lifting the blackout on games not carried by FSN Ohio but I have no confirmation that it will shown....I'm going to tune in at 10PM to find out for sure.

As for the game, we have a very good track record vs the Ducks and seem to be gelling of late inspite of Peca and Modin not playing much.... I'm hoping Nash and Z build off of their recent scoring trends... As for Glencross, he is the best find from our AHL team I've seen so far this season-I wish he was playing....

I don't think so. That's what Shelley's for-- to protect his teammates and take on the heavyweights so Boll doesn't have to. Boll can take on the light heavies and middleweights as RickS said. I think Boll has the ability to be more than just a fighter, so I hope he doesn't turn into one of those players that are more caught up in fighting instead of playing "hockey." And trust me I like the guys that fight, it's definitely part of the game (I'm a big fan of Jody), but I see Boll as a player that has the potential to score 15-20 goals a season if he calms down a little on the fighting, but still brings the energy, which would make him very valuable.

Boll did fight Eric Boulton, who I consider to be a heavyweight.. Milan Lucic is no slouch either. I doubt Boll would back down if Parros challenged him.

Just saying it's a possibility. But I agree that it's improbable.

Fair enough. And I'll agree. I think if you see Parros fight tonight, it will be against one person and thats Jody Shelley. I do think Boll-Moen round 2 could happen.

Lucic is definitely on his way to becoming a heavy. That kid can go toe to toe with anyone.

oh, boll with fight pornstache. whether he will win or not, is a different subject.

russell will score tonight. nash will continue his scoring streak. zherdev will also score, as he is determined to gain the point total lead for the team.

we will win, of course, because a magical fairy unicorn told me in my dreams.

go go jackets!
