Nah, but I'm really confused about this statement. If we do sign CuJo, and he isn't ready for Friday's game, then we've got Ward and Leighton.

Starter and backup.
is Leighton by chance the goaltender called up from the minors? if he is then my statement should not be confusing at all... he may only be called up just in case Grahame is claimed and Cujo isn't ready... just because a player is recalled does not mean he will stay with the club

Actually, after last night, even though Ward was the goalie, not super shocking.

The way he's played with Albany so far this season I think he's what JR has in mind for the solution to the backup goalie issue. That's not to say it's a slam dunk that he'll play well in the NHL by any means, but he's in the middle of a career year in the AHL and it should be no shock that the organization would call him up and waive a backup that's statistically the worst regular in the NHL. The real surprise to most Canes fans is that this move wasn't made a month ago.

Everybody knows that if you throw money and some of your hair in the Spengler Cup, NHL teams will want you 48 hours later. Why else do you think anyone even bothers participating.

Eklund might have a few sources, but I'm not at all impressed with the amount of thought he puts into his posts.

Right, because the gambling capital of the world, where every casino is covering almost every sporting event, tuning in to a high-profile sporting event indicates a solid expansion market. Oh wait... no, it doesn't.

i wasn't saying thats not the case... i was simply debating a statement where someone said just because they called up a goalie they weren't going to sign Cujo... I was just stating a way it was possible and they just didn't seem to get what I was saying

Ahh, gotcha, just a bit of misinterpretation on my part there.

I doubt CuJo will be signed because the Canes ownership is generally a bit on the cheep side, but it wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility if someone was dumb enough to claim Grahame.

if you are cujo and coming back for 500k to 1mil, who would you sign for?

Carolina or Toronto?

Welcome to Raleigh, Mr Curtis.
