Terrible choice of shooters by him tonight, but firing? I'm not the guys biggest fan, but there is simply nobody else available who could do a better job for this team. because such a coach would already have a job.

This should really be a poll thread on which HF Rangers fan should be the coach.

To sit there and lable people as stupid because they believe he should be fired is being no smarter than the one you are putting down as stupid.

Think before you post. That was un-called for.
okay.

edit: since i respect you, i'll give you a real response.. this guy annoyed me earlier in the thread about drury so much of this is based off that, although i do believe this is irrational and short sighted still, given the success renney has had and the history of last season. our team is not perfect, yet some people still do not expect them to hit any bumps over the course of a long year.

Ive been calling for Renneys head since Day one of the 06-07 season. He was nothing more then the beneficiary of a happy Jagr in 05-06 and he looked like a genius. His Mickey Mouse antics no longer work because he no longer had Jagr Nylander Straka eating away valuble clock minutes with their un-realistic puck possession, not to mention undoubtable chemistry. The powerplay has been abysmal since Renney has taken over.

Its taken him how long after Jagr Gomez and Straka have been lighting it up to actually try them together on the PP? Oh wait he still has not. He still goes to Jagr Dubinsky Prucha, with Straka and Rozy on the points. So after our PP going 0-10 the last 10 games and being in the bottom half of the league, one would think change is needed. Not when it comes to Tom Renney.

And of course, he has to have the 4th line out with 6:30 to go in the Vancouver game, when trailing 1-0. Thats when you shorten your bench and let your key players suck it up and do what they get paid to do. Not Tom, he has to let every one have an oppertunity to play, like back in the pee-wees and intermurals. Tom Renneys Amateur hour antics are over with and tonight with Avery going first after having argueably his worst game as a Ranger is the straw that broke the camels back. All we can do is hope for ALOT of

Dan Carcillo?

Although I really wouldn't mind seeing a deal sometime soon to shake things up.

I've called for Carcillo before, but I honestly don't know who the hell could possibly inject life into the team this time.

We are in deep poo poo

I don't either honestly. Phoenix has a nice, young nucleus and I don't think they'd trade him.

I guess we just have to hope the offense gets some consistency. As we've done since October......

Switch Renney and Willie Randolph...see if the results differ.

I'm giving him to the end of the season.

I didn't see the game tonight, but after reading the GDT I think it's safe to say he needs to revise his strategy a bit. At least do something to light a fire under the team. Unfortunately I don't think he's that type of coach.

guys come on! We need a sniper. A pure goal scorer. We have a team full of centers: Gomez, Straka, Avery, Drury, Dubi...even Prucha was a center pre-NHL. Our only pure goal scorer is 40+ yrs old.

I want a selfish, puck hogging, lousy two-way cocky, showoff sniper who has a nose for the net.

I don't care about the system even.

All I want is someone who will objectively look at the players. If you **** up, someone else is getting a shot. Keep players competing.

So sick of seeing certain forwards just float around with their sticks up their ass.

Well, we can start clearing cap space now and hoard a bunch of draft picks for Ovechkin down the line

I like Renney but he's not the right man for this team right now. We need someone to come in here and scream and holler and light a fire under this team's ass.

if they fire renney, you can all but bank on this season being a wash. bad idea, he's done tons for this organization to get it back on track ever since he became the coach. yes this team is not performing anywhere close to what anyone expected, but with a vet laden team like this that is still on a mission to win the cup this year, you can't throw in the white flag.

and for what it's worth, as painful as the last three games were to watch, for stretches that's some of the best rangers hockey overall we've seen all season. hell, we even saw a fabled drury moment.

Yea. NHL should like that. Get Ovi out of the black hole down there.

But seriously...I dont even need a 50+ scorer. I dont care is this said player scored more than 25, but I WANT SOMEONE WHO LOVES TO FINISH! So many set ups are wasted by Prucha and Straka. Neither of which are pure wingers.

I don't know there feller, both times you've been hating on me I've been agreed with by most.

But, you can keep it going if you want.

Simple thread, simple majority of agreements. It's also simple to see that no matter what Renney has done for this team, it's not his place anymore. The system isn't working, and his moves have just been mind boggling this year.

Unfortunately, looking at the standings and figuring LeCavalier isn't going anywhere...it looks like we're going to have to dip back into LA's pool of tremendous talent and snag

Ladislav Nagy! hahahaha
