This would be sick because we all know Kopitar is young and prospering in the NHL. However, I was privledged enough to see Johnson play at Michigan last year alongside T.J. Hensick and he was godlike at UM. Although, I can't see CBJ giving up Pazzy yet.....in the future if this Mason kid keeps up the impressive play.

I would advise you stop the "Trade Leclaire" talk before Mellington gets home.

It could get ugly......just a warning.....

I think it isn`t good idea. In my opinion Steve would play in Kitchener in this season.

What`s happen with Pops?

I just read that OHL Rosters freeze on the 10th. If he isn't back in Kitchener by then, he's in Columbus for good.

Unless the roster freeze doesn't apply to emergency call ups?

It doesn't apply to emergency callups. The 10th is the trade deadline and the date OHL teams have to be carrying 3 or fewer overage players.

Y'all ain't keeping him. We need him in Kitchener.

$850K is his contract.

Will the fact that he's dressed count towards the 9 game "cup of coffee" rule for his contract (i.e. it kicks in this year as opposed to next year)?

9 games doesn't matter now.

He went back to Junior in September so the only way he stays in Columbus is after OHL playoffs are over.

Very short term this PR stunt is.

Howson wants to create the buzz.

Get the Gold Medal trophy to town and why not.

No time to read the whole thread.....in a nutshell.....if "they" attempt to play Mason at he NHL level, or even put the kid on the bench "they" should be fired.....stupid.... Leave the kid alone, one thing he does not need to see is anything short of a winning environment.

Considering the next game is on the road and Leclaire could be good to go after that this is anything but a PR stunt.

Under MacLean who knows...but Howson is not a "PR stunt" type guy.

The fact is the Jackets are out of goalies, nothing more than that.

Maybe you should read the thread before you comment the only reason mason is being called up is because pascal is sick and we need a back up for the st.Louis game he is not staying

I see, reading the thread would have explained why the Blue Jackets would skip taking the generally accepted course in NHL organizations such as, putting an American Hockey League goaltender, e.g. Karl Goehring on the bench.....

If "they" weren't out of goalies, Mason would be in Kitchner

Sounds like you're stuck in Angry Bob mode. Goehring is not under contract by the Jackets. Why sign him for one game? If it were a serious injury, I could see signing him. But not for one game.

Not all.....the only reason people are getting so excited, including Howson, is based on Mason's recent stint in the Jrs. and the need for something new to jump start the Jackets into a bonified playoff race. Trust me, the Blue Jackets can only harm the young Steve Mason by putting him into a potentially NHL playoff race situation....

Least people forget, the probability of Norrena getting hurt is not zero.... If Mason would be forced to face the St' Louis Blues he will get a man's game education-quickly. I don't think it's wise to take that chance....sorry, buts that's my opinion.

I agree, but I don't think you'll see him play here at all, and I doubt he will be up long. From all indications Pazzy should be good to go after Tuesday's game.
