I'm tempted to call in sick and watch the game
Yea, just sit Jagr to see what could be done w/o him.

I agree this will be a very interesting game, fun to watch I'd bet, different from the usual. It is sort of a good test, and plus, Jagr will probably be useless anyway since Straka isn't playing with him.

I think it's a good night to play a great defensive game and win 1-0. You have to adapt to win, let's hope Henrik throws a shutout.

I would be happy with a win, but to put up 1 goal on the sorry ass Tampa defense and goaltenders would be a HUGE disappointment, even with half of our top six forwards out of the lineup tonight

My point was to play a defensive style and not get in a shootout with a team that probably has more firepower than the Rangers. I'd rather rely on Henrik win the game than Prucha, stepping up!

Doubt Prucha steps up but this is his big shot..

Hey all...just checking in from work to reiterate the sentiments of all about how much this bites with all the injuries
.
Also, I know I've said this before but...5 Pages of GDT thread before the game even starts. We set the standard my friends!

i wonder how Parenteau is going to do up here...is there a chance that if he plays well consistently, that Sather might decide to trade dubinsky?

I fail to see the connection between the two.

I doubt it. Let's keep it to a minimum, this guy is "AHL-Caliber" from what I've read about him, Dubinsky has earned a spot on this Ranger team and shouldn't be a traded away unless this guys lights the lamp, and I doubt he will.

Let's not forget the only reason he's playing is as a third call up emergency case for injuries, not because he earned playing time in the NHL.

This will be an interestingly coached game...

Renney will no doubt be having them on their best defensive hockey - the question will be can they score. I'm actually a bit optimistic about tonight's game. I think Gomez comes through tonight and Henke plays well. No predictions though as this team hasn't been able to do that well with a full lineup of late.

why is an "ahl-calber" player?.....he had more points then dubi last year in the ahl and he makes the players around him better in the ahl, he hasnt been given the cofrrect chance and the reason he is the htird call-up is because if he gets sent down, teams can pick him up off of waivers for free, all they have to do is pay his salary...which isnt a big deal

I agree with JACKSON RANGER, defense and goaltending is what we need tonight...I don't care what score we win by, but we need to win...And not a knock against Prucha, Drury or anybody else, but with a depleted roster AND the challenge of Lecavallier, this is a game for JAGR to take control.....As well as whatever defenders are used against Lecav's line

I'm excited to see what a Dawes-Moore-Parenteau line is going to do up in the NHL. They absolutely wreck the ahl...I like that they are staying together in the NHL, don't get to see much of that these days. Should be cool.

It's funny that Strudwick will most likely have the "A" on his shoulder because earlier today, I was watching the Rangers/Caps 14 round shootout. Which of course ended with Malik's rope-a-dope circus shot. But getting back on topic, Studs had the "A" then, too.

Is Parenteau a big guy? I don't really follow Hartford and I have no clue what he looks like or what his game is llike.

Nigel Dawes kinda looks like Gabe Kaplan from "Welcome Back Kotter"

Well in a sense, Welcome Back Nigel! This kid will turn into a star, and as Bruno often says--"Book it"!

He certainly deserves it if he's playing, if anything else, you can't judge the guys leadership, he's certainly good at that.

But regardless of if he wears a letter on his chest he will continue to motivate his team, and be a mentor.
