Jared Boll Fight Probability
St. Louis Blues - 1/08/08

Factors:
Opposing Fighters (Fights):
Active: D.J. King (8), David Backes (3), Dan Hinote (3), Jamal Mayers (3), Matt Walker (3), Barret Jackman (2), Bryce Salvador (2), Eric Brewer (1), Keith Tkachuk (1)

History:
Jody Shelley fought DJ King on Nov. 16. The Blue Jackets lead the season series 2-1.

Other factors:
Boll has gone four games without a fight. Boll was not participating in the Jackets' practice yesterday.

Conclusion:
Since both of these teams are fighting for playoff positioning, this game is important. Both teams will be hungry for the two points and will be doing what they need to do to get them. This bodes well for chippiness and rough play, especially with a team like Columbus involved. As well, Boll is long overdue for a fight. While DJ King is the likely pugilist out of St. Louis, he's got history with Shelley, so I'd expect Boll to tangle with someone like Hinote or Jackman.

Probability:
50%

I'll agree this is a must win. Gotta win 2 of the next 3 at the very least.

Blue Jackets 4 (Nash, Federov, Hainsey, Fritsche)
Blues 2 (who cares)

GO JACKETS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Klesla will get a hat trick tonight. Boll will also get a goal. Nash will get a goal. The Blue Jackets will win 5-3.

I'd love to see Klesla score a trick....I'd take one goal as far as that goes.... Bottomline, the Blue Jackets must start scoring some goals. I'm so tuned into our solid defensive system I know we won't give up more than three goals on most nights... We must start scoring and Mr. Nash is the guy who needs to get going....

If we lose tonight we will drop to one game above .500.... the losing trend must stop tonight!

#1 Ummm, trend indicates that this will be a W on the W-L-W-L-W rollercoaster.

#2 Pubs ~ love, love, love the avatar!

#3 http://www.sportsline.com/nhl/scoreboard My favourite for game updates. Click on the Game Center for any game and you get all of the information including diagrams showing from where the shots are taken. Updates continually and scores for other games are in a banner across the top. Easy to switch between game centers.

#4 Agreed, the chat room has pretty much decimated the GDT but... the "atmosphere" in the chat room doesn't become one of gloom and doom with each poor play, real or perceived.

#5 Please, please, please Hockey Gods, let Russell get his first goal tonight!

#6 Oh yeah, Jackets win 4-3. (Or in any combination in which we score at least one goal more than the Blues. I'm not picky!)

I totally agree. Sometimes I feel like smashing the screen when I am watching a game since it the same thing alot of nights. They play really well defensively, they play a solid overall game in alot of ways, but it is often just this enemic offense which is hurting them. I am just waiting for someone to take the darn puck to the net. Nash needs to start coming up big alot more often then has lately too, if he is the this teams franchise player this is the time to start proving it, he needs to produce NOW.

My TV says it'll be on at 10:00.

So by the time the last 5 minutes of the thugball game takes an hour to play, then a full 35 minute post game show, we'll get to see the Jackets game if it goes into Overtime...

Sorry.....I should have put a smile in there as well..... Listen folks, as much as many from around the world hate me the truth of the matter is we are now in a very vulnerable situation with zero goalie depth....

The story should not be about Mr. Mason, the story should be about a solid Blue Jacket pro roster by signing professionals regardless of cost-for crying out loud, it's been six seasons without the playoffs.....enough is enough.

Seriously, what happens if Norrena suffers a severe injury tonight? What then....unreal.

So you'd love us to be saddled with Denis' contract then?

No, Denis has let me and himself down..... But, if there was a way to void contracts and put on him on the bench for $500,000 I'd do it in a heartbeat.

Sorry Jacket fans, I'm a fan, I'm not paid to monitor our goalie health throughout the system....we should never have been in a goalie crunch as we seem to be now... Crazy, pure crazyness during the first playoff push the Blue Jackets have ever had.....

I'm sure the Blues will be crashing the net hard tonight, they want to see Mason.

Karl Goehring is the goalie for the Crunch. Geez, Rob, this has all been explained to you!

I know, I know.....we have around ten minor league teams and no playable healthy goalies other than the best in world jr Canadian history.....

Just kidding there, Mason could be the future of the Blue Jackets and I personally love his play (what I have seen).... I'm simply appalled we are suddenly so vulnerable at goalie being the highest level of hockey known to man....

Uh-oh. Brad Boyes. 7 games without a goal.

Let's hope the Jackets will improve on not being the leagues bad-streak-beater

Half of North America wants to as well..... If so I think he will do well, he is good, but in the end it's not in the kids best interest to save the Blue Jackets season.....even if it's only one game.
