Anyone know if they're going back to 4 on 4 this year? It was 5 on 5 last year, if Im correct, and I remember it not being as entertaining as the first one.
I see Brent Burns making it from the Wild
Christian Backman or possibly Danton making it from the Blues
Backman definately deserves to be there, but with so few games played, I think there's definately a chance he doesn't get selected. I'm not sure Danton is on his first pro contract, but if he is and they are struggling to find players, he's got a shot. That said, I'm not counting on it.
That will be pretty sweet to see what Ales Hemsky and Nikolai Zherdev could do together on the ice. Although the Wests offence is better, the Easts defence and goaltenders look much stronger.
The thing I want to see the most out of this game is a 2 on 0 with Hemsky and Zherdev shooting on Fleury...
The fact that Trent Hunter (leading rookie goal scorer) and Micheal Ryder (leading rookie point scorer) won't be there makes this game unwatchable for me. If you make a game like this and you get caught up in your own stupid rules you to have to wake up, realize you made and mistake and fix it. But the NHL is so damn stupid the most prolific "Future Stars" can't actually be there. Way to go NHL!
Well he did played 44 games last year. I don't remeber the number of games a player has to play tostop being a rookie but it's close to this one. Hunter played 8 games last year and Ryder none.

Games aren't a factor, it's not a rookie competition.
As long as the player is under 25 and on his first contract and hasn't played in a previous YoungStars game he's eligible.
