Thomas Vanek.

Thought it over for about 3 minutes which is a lot. Zach Parise is at the top of my prospects list, but after seeing him get pushed around by the Finnish team... I'd say he needs to get a little bigger and stronger.

Vanek's horrible performance at the WJC really dropped his stock, but with that size, speed, and those hands... he's one of the better prospects.

Here's there stats so far this season...

Parise 18GP, 11G, 15A, 26PTS 1.44PPG
Vanek 23GP, 18G, 14A, 32PTS 1.39PPG

Tough to say, Parise excelled at the WJC where as Vanek struggled. Maybe teammates?

Vanek played with nobody... but his numbers should have been better..

They've done very little as of today, it's tough to say... so all of these votes will be either homeristic (word?), guesses, or favouritistic (word?). I've seen them both play, for some reason I lean towards Vanek.

After watching them both play last night when UND played MN. Vanek doesn't look like the same guy that he did last year, while Parise just looked like he took him game to another level. It may have been their linemates, but I just expected a little more out of Vanek.

I allready stated my opinion on this many times before. Parise is better now but Vanek has the potential to be better in the future. Vanek is high risked and Parise is a safer pick.

Vanek's modus operandum is to have a lack of intensity and then score the big goal when you need it. My big question is that if his intensity falls at times, his NHL upside could take a blow.

For that reason, I took Parise.

The question wasn't who has the most upside, it says who is better....meaning now.

I agree, he has Hossa'ish qualities. However these judging young players is pretty well pointless because you have no idea how they will develop.
