Stick and Skate Weights

I was thinking of buying a stick weight and skate weights. First of all, are these useful and secondly which are the best offered?

I've only seen two skate weights. The Sk8W8 which is pretty expensive (around $35) and an older metal weight a friend of mine was skating with over the summer.

The Sk8W8 isn't heavy at all, but it attached very easily. The guys I asked to try it we're not impressed at all.

The older weight needed an allen wrench to attach and was a beast. My friend said there was a noticeable difference when he had them on.
