Especially if you can't count on your captain to have your back:
Quote:
"That's looking into it too far I think," Foote said. "(Zherdev) does those moves almost every shift, and once or twice he is going to get caught."

Foote thinks the Blue Jackets might have over-reacted in trying to even the score against Tootoo and the Predators, which led to a parade of penalties.

"After the Tootoo fight, our team almost played too aggressive and wound up in the box trying to show that we care," Foote said.

You know, this is exactly what I was thinkin when I read this. This is not the kind of attitude that I want from my captain. This is the first time that I've thought or said this about Adam, but this makes me think that Foote is not the right player to lead us to the playoffs and into the future. I want a captain that is going to say, Zherdev got caught making one of his moves, but we will catch them making a move next time. Or something like that. Saying that things like that are going to happen makes me feel like Foote doesn't think there is anything wrong with taking a shot at one of the top players on the team.

It would really make my day if Leclaire just absolutely outclasses Legace tonight. GO PAZZY.

Nice to see Methot in the line up, too. Last time he didn't get to play a game. Show me what you showed me last year Marc and everything will be great. I may even be tickled pink.

Pazzy gets the shutout out against "All Star" Goalie Legace.

Not only that we score 4 goals on the "All Star", before he gets pulled.

Also, I like the Russel-Klelsa maybe Rusty can get some tips on how to pass to the right team.

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm realy excited to see how the Klesla-Russell pairing works out. Russell should get a lot of ice time paired with Rusty, and hopefully, this leads to his first goal. I think this is a really big step for Russell.

I'm glad they shook up the 2nd and 3rd defensive pairs and ecstatic that Methot was called up. I think he really deserved to make the squad this year after his performance toward the end of last season. Hope he sticks!

This game is critical. I'm not the type to go posting that in very GDT but this time I truly believe it is. We have got to find ways to beat this team. This game is in our house and we need to score a lot of goals to win but more importantly we need to set the tone with a few of the newer Blues player. Specifically guys like Boyes and Macdonald who are probably on board and getting comfortable in their new positions. They've got to know we've taken notice of them and their **** won't fly in Nationwide.

One way or another Backes must pay for his hit on Zherdev.

These two weekend games are it, IMO.

It should show if we have a pulse or not, and could spark us for the upcoming road games.

If we lose either one or both, imo, its next year time. At least that's how I feel today.

If we win both, we can take a breath and saddle up for the next challenge.

We just absolutely must pummel St. Louis and obviously Nashville needs to die.

Must. Must.

I don't think we need to target any one player or payback anyone, but we need to come out laying the wood to send the message we're not going to take it. To payback now would show that reporters and fans called them out and that's the only reason they're doing anything about it. The whole team had 2 periods on Tuesday to show some balls and retaliate and they didn't... as usual.

If we lose to Nashville, it's over. We've lost what... 9 times in a row to them? If we can't turn that around in our own house, we'd never win a single game in the playoffs.

I completely agree.
Lose these two, and we're done.

Hannu Toivonen in tonight per Puck-Rakers.

Legace is afraid of Leclaire. He's AFRAID.

I can't count that high. No one should have to count that many consecutive losses to their so-called "rival".

Or the Blues looked at the 6-1 spanking they gave us on Tuesday and think we won't put up a fight.

Punish them for their hubris, boys. 4-point game tonight.
