Right winger. Other than the few games last season, he's always been a right winger.

Uhm... I hate Pulu now because i'm an HIFK fan?

You know son, Pulu is one of my favorite players in the SM-Liiga. Saying he probably won't make the NHL doesn't mean i hate him because he plays for Jokerit.

And just FYI i've often secretly jumped to the Jokerit bandwagon in my mind after the HIFK has been eliminated. Just for the sake of Helsinki Hockey, we really need a championship here. I would be thrilled if it was the IFK who wins it but wouldn't be too upset if Jokerit is the one who takes it.

As a player who doesn't have that much to offer outside the offensive zone, Pulkkinen should try to match that kind of dominance before going over and giving it a try. AHL with its schedule and travelling is not an ideal environment for many young Europeans that still require time and guidance for honing their skills.

As usual, Wings don't plan to rush bringing their prospects to NA. I expect Wings to sign him next year with the option of playing the first year in Finland.

Finnish tv channel/media outlet MTV3 reports that he has been taken to the hospital mere hours before the first game of the playoffs tonight because of ''kidney infection''. No clue how serious that is.

If it's normal infection, he should be fine in two weeks (they say at jatkoaika.com), which might be too late for Jokerit.

YEAH, lahti seems to suck without Pulu. But you got Ben Eaves who is beast in playoffs. I think that jokerit will win the series because of Eaves. I wish that IFK wins that series tho.

Man, Pulkkinen seems to very injury-prone so far. Some freak accidents, sure, but it always seem to happen to HIM.

Bad luck just seems to follow the kid. You can't put a kidney infection under injury prone...

Pulkkinen with the assist on the lone goal for Jokerit in game 7 against HIFK, Jokerit out after a 1-5 loss. He might get called up for the national team training camp, this week's games are too early but Finland has two games against Latvia next week when he might get to play.

Did he play in any other playoff games? If so how'd he do?

He played in game 6, but he had 0+0 in a 2-1 OT loss against HIFK. He was pretty bad. Got checked hard few times in the offensive blueline and lost the puck too many times.

He also played in game 5, 0+0 in 3-1 win, but I don't know how he played in that game.

Only played about 11 minutes in game 5, 19 minutes in game 7. The kidney infection took out his best form.

I say we are talking about one of the best prospects ever from Finland. With descent playing time he could make those numbers already in NHL. I see his potential in prime close to 35-40G 80-90 points. I'd like to say 100 but it's too difficult nowadays

Has his slapper been measured? if so, how hard was it?

Is it usually accurate too or just very hard?

I have heard that his release is kind of slow. Doesnt matter on a one timer ofc, but does he usually have a problem to get his shot off in time?

Thanks in advance

He's definatly capable of scoring 40+ goals, once projected top 5 talents don't go away just like that. 90PTS is a bit of a stretch IMO, also can't see him putting 70PTS RIGHT NOW, he'll be a hell of a player if he continues on the right track though

It is accurate. Sometimes shots are a bit wide but not over the crossbar. On PP he tries to shoot like Stamkos 1-2feet high shots close to goal post.

Release is slow. I don't even know how the hell it can be so slow. Sometimes he have problems in 1on1 situations. But if there is enough time the shot is incredible.

I believe he have the best slapshot of any Finnish hockey player.

Here is nice video, made by Tormentor

goals 1, 2, 6, 8; when he have time and space...
goals 3, 4, 7; wicked one timers, like Stamkos
fifth; great one timer in odd man rush

If he does this in NHL, biggest steal of 2010 draft.

Very hard not to be excited about this kid. Just read that he broke another Teemu's 20 year standing rookie season assist record, as well as being 2nd in PP goals in his league... as an 18 year old. If he can bring his game to the NHL this guy's scoring instincts are going to be a force.

Holy slapper, that was a fun video. I wonder how he'll do against teams that block tons of shots though.

Looking at how well he elevates his shots I'm more thinking about the teeth of said shot blockers.
