It's official...we've got another Roman Turek on our hands.

That's ultimately what bought Hannu a ticket out of Boston...he just wasn't a consistent, reliable goalie.

When he gets to the playoffs and single-handedly implodes, then we've got another Roman Turek ... but he's clearly struggled since the team forgot to show up against Colorado.

Those last two goals were very disappointing. Awful goals to give up after the team rebounded to tie the game. Toivonen has great potential too, but he isn't playing to the level that he could be at.

And just as I say that, Zherdev scores again. Good game all around by the Jackets.

And as I finish that post, Zherdev makes it 6-3 by skating past ... yep, our other favorite whipping boy this season, Barret Jackman.

The Turek comparison may be premature, but it seems to fit....large body, european, soft goals, betrayed potential....

It fits, but he's had more good performances than bad.

he's still young, has a good goalie coach and for some reason the Blues just don't play very good in front of him.......and he very well could have been tired out after making 5 tough save after tough save

Hannu - can you say headcase! Saves the hard ones and misses the easy ones. Fell apart after the 4th goal. Granted this loss was collaborative effort. We came out flat. We didn't hit for the first half. Missed opportunities on the 5-on-3's.

Yeah, but so did Turek...at least before the post-season.

Disappointing loss, but I don't think it should be entirely blamed on Toivonen. The 5 on 3 near the end should've been capitalized on. It should've been 4-3, or 5-3 in the Blues' favor. But alas, no shots at all on that powerplay, and the Jackets scored 3 more goals.

to me it doesn't really matter how hannu played if you can't capalize on two 5 on 3's it's going to bite you in the ass

I'll agree that the PP was lackluster(what else is new), but when your goalie gives up six you're not gonna win.

Let's say that we scored on both 5-on-3s....its still only a tie game. And, really, you shouldn't need 3 PPG to tie.

let say we score those goal on the PP and the Blues go into defense first mode and stop taking as many chances and those shots that scored don't even happen. It can go both ways

There's a bunch of what if's, but if we had scored on the first and second 5 on 3s, the momentum could've gone in a whole different direction, and the end result could've been different. Agreed on the sentiment that the goaltending was very shaky tonight, though.

My only objection is to the offense getting the lion's share of the blame.

Do they deserve some blame, certainly...

Does Toivy deserve 2/3s of said blame, also certainly.

I think it's safe to say that if Legace started this game, we'd be looking at a win

I think it's safe to say that our 5 on 3 powerplay is the least intimidating 5 on 3 in
the league

I think it's safe to say that putting Matt Walker on the point of said 5 on 3 in a tie game late deserves to be questioned

I think it's safe to say that that was not the best game Eric Brewer has played.

I think it's safe to say that Backes' new nasty streak is fun to watch

Don't remind me, the game isn't on TV!

FSN is really dropping the ball here, IMO.

With the renewed interest in the team you'd think the games would get good numbers...what else is on that friggin' channel? Women's basketball? That awful fight league crap? A worthless poker show?

Ugh!
