Trade for a left wing

Move Mara or Malik for a left wing.
I don't think they can depend on Straka or Avery being health.

i agree but who is out there, dallas was rumored to move ott. we can use some more grit. Ott also has some skill. Ott also has played centre in the past.

Shanahan is a left wing. He has been playing off wing since he arrived here.

This team doesn't need another role player. it needs another impact player/scorer. A true Power Forward maybe.

the motto for the rangers should be:

once a ranger, never used the right way.

Like who? Ovechkin for Mara? Kovalchuk for Malik? You think Straka and Avery level players will be available for Malik?!

Take it easy, I think you know what he meant but just chose to react that way for whatever reason.

Point being lets move some of these bum dmen away to a team that could use them and add in what we have to in order to get a good scoring forward back and I agree. Zherdev would be great, but would cost a fair amount.

They won't trade Zherdev now. Nobody knows how he would do for this team. He is a right wing also. More like Mara or Malik to Chicago for either Ruutu or Bourque or Lapointe. I thought Dawes would be better by now.

Yeah, I doubt they would give up Zherdev but I would definitely like to see him on the Rangers, he has a good amount of potential. Also, pick up Rusty for young d-man.

Why trade for Zherdev when we all know he'd be played out of position in Rangerland anyways?

its a stretch and a risk but how bout freddy modin on columbus? his name has not been mentioned, he's a left wing 6'4 220 and has a rocket of a shot. he's been hurt which is a major and probably stupid risk but what are your thoughts? his cap hit is 3.25, he's also 33 years old. does anyone else think they should take a shot? im just throwing a name out because the topic here is trade for a left wing so don't get on me for suggesting anything

The way Malik is used I would go for it. They are both probably gone after this year.
The problem is he is still injured.

Hell no on Lapointe. His best years are far behind him. I'd take Ruutu or Bourque for sure.

I do still think Dawes and Dubinsky could end up being a nice combo on the third-line, but they haven't gotten much done on the scoresheet.
