Yeah next time they play Ottawa Atlanta they have to start a scrum around him and somehow sneak Marcel in the middle then they switch jerseys and voila

Umm yeah sure I did . Not the first time that's happened. I can't even remember Marcel's first name half the time.

i mean is there any cap space
any possibility of chemistry with his bro
i think he's a great player
someone this team needs
he's a scorer
and that is the biggest rangers lack
imo

Hossa, if not resigned by Atlanta is going to command upwards of 7.5 on the open market.

No chance, IMO.

agreed. drury 7, gomez 7+ and you gotta figure henrik is going to command at least 6 (assuming he finds his game again) thats 20 million for 3 players.

rozsival is going to demand a huge raise, as are tyutin and girardi. if jagr doesnt qualify for his option, then bringing him back would be problematic, assuming he even wants to come back.

about 2 mil rolling over to next years cap because of bonuses (though it may not depending on a plethora of different things)

just way too much money needs to be spent, i dont see anyone big coming here AND us keeping these other important guys. we need to be able to pay all those guys first.

the rangers are playing pretty bad right now and would have no leverage for a trade. Atlantas looking to net a big gain as it is like one paper reported today, they would really try and rip the rangers off.

The Rangers do not appear to have the assets. Certainly there are other teams (like the Flyers) who can put together a more attractive package than the Blueshirts without crippling their current squad.

Plus the cap issues.

Yeah we said the same thing about Jagr. If Jagr, Straka and Shanny leave after the season then I think the Rangers will go after Marian. But if two of the three return they won't be able to afford him.

I think there's a good chance all three won't be back next season so I could see the Rangers looking to sign him to make him the new face of the franchise.

I'll tell you who I would love to see in Ranger blue and that's Marion Gaborik. But I doubt Minnesota will allow him to ever become a UFA. He's eligible to be a UFA after the 08-09 season.

He's an awesome talent that when healthy could be the best player in the league. I think we all saw what he can do when he torched us for 5 goals last month.

Gaborik def could be the best in the league, but hes hurt way too much. With that said if someone made me choose b/w Hossa and Gaborik...wow thatd be tough.

three players
could be leaving (shanny ,strak ,jagr) ... even more (malik )
that would make some space
and for the question gabo or hossa
i'd prefer hossa ...
no disrespect for gabo he's sick but's it would be risky very risky

The problem isn't next season but a few after that when they'll have Gamoez, Drury, Luundy and Hossa all on big, lon-term contracts and they also have to give raises to guys such as Staal maybe dawes, Bourett, Chere Dubinsky etc

I really like Marian Hossa, and it would be exciting if he wound up here, but I would really doubt his ability to succeed Jagr being "the guy" here and for him to consistently be that superstar-100pt player we need..

Hossa is a gamebreaker. If Jagr, Straka, and Shanahan are gone next year, we need one to stay competitive.

We have the assets @ the NHL level & lower levels, a trade could be done, long term signing could be prolbematic, if we expect to bring back jagr, shanny & rosi.

let me get this straight, u want to get rid of Shannahan Straka AND JAGR, for a 19goals 23 assists guy???????? Jagr has 13goals and 27 assists....everyones gettin on Jag's for his lack of numbers, Hossa's not doing much better.

Hossa also doesn't play w/ any type of decent center. If he played w/ top center he would have more points I think. he is also only 29 which is still your prime not past your prime like Jagr, and Straka, or really really past your prime like Shanny. and I don't think that the poster said he wants to get rid of Shanny, Straka, and Jagr. he said we could lose those three players.

Straka might retire - he hinted at it the last two years and just had his first concussion.

Jagr- could become an UFA. Who knows how much he will ask for. Remember his skills are diminishing.

Shanny - Skills are really diminishing and probably should retire. Has been fighting injuries and age. Too costly for what he produces anymore. Doesn't have the speed to match up well w/ Gomez or Drury at center.

Jagr and Straka off of the books frees up that 7.5 million.
