Glen Wesley placed on IR, Nolan and Conboy recalled

Retroactive to Jan 5th Wesley has been placed on the IR. That must be some flu he has. Nolan gets his third recall this month and Conboy will see his first taste of nhl action.

.... what the ****?

In other news my agent is expecting a call any minute. Apparently I'm somewhere between Steve Halko and Kristi Yamaguchi on the list of people to put in the lineup.

So it'll be the Carolina River Rats vs the Colorado Monsters (with about 6 former River Rats)? Maybe I'll stay home and watch it instead of watching the trainwreck of a UHL team we'll be icing tonight.

Good for Timmy, though.

Big couple of games coming up against vulnerable opponents. We need 4 points with a nigh unwinable game to follow at Ottawa.

I beleive Brandon Nolan had 9 shots on goal last night.....seems to be trying to show he has the skills to help a team offensively....I think he could develop into a usefull nhl'er

That's 4 recalls since late December. Some frequent flyer miles he must have.

On the down side, I guess this means that Whitney won't be ready for tonight.

Brookbank may play tonight.

Wallin wont play.

Letowski and Whitney didnt skate, so they wont be playing.

For such a big, strong man Wallin sure is soft. If Brookbank does play this'll be one tough lineup we're icing. I'd hope to see him throw down with Parker if he's playing. I doubt he will though, coming off the flu. Plus he just hasn't looked that willing so far. The avs have a couple smaller guys who fight so hopefully Conboy and Nolan can find dancing partners.

Your close. I was at the pregame skate today and this is what they had:

Samsonov-Brind'Amour-Cole
Stillman-Staal-Ladd
Adams-Aucoin-LaRose
Brookbank-Hamilton

Nolan wasn't in town yet, so I'm guessing he gets the 4th.

Samsonov and Cole are intriguing. They looked pretty damn good together this morning, very fast, Cole has someone that can skate right alongside him. Hopefully they can get some 2 on 1s and convert.

Gleason-Commodore
Kaberle-Borer
Seidenberg

I'm guessing Conboy will be with Seidenberg, or vice versa.

Cam Ward is in goal tonight

I assume Seidenberg will be in but I doubt we pair him with Conboy. Has Samsonov been moved off the line with Stillman and Brind'amour? I wasn't able to catch the New Jersey game so maybe he got moved and I don't know it.

God damn, we are missing 10 players and our forwards are still better than alot of other teams in the league.

I like that Samsonov-Brindy-Cole line a hell of a lot more then I did Stillman-Brindy-Samsonov. He needs a finisher on his line and that's not what either Stillman or Brind'Amour are. Cole is one, not to mention one of the fastest players in the league to go with it. About time they gave Ladd another look in the top 6 as well.

I agree with you here. Sammy and Cole together may result in a few 2-on-1s and we need some more of those. However, I really think Staal as the center would be more effective. he is a good finisher. especially in front of the net. could get many rebound goals. but other than that, I like it.
