Unfortunately, tomorrow's Canadiens at Kings game won't be on HNIC, just RDS.
The good news is that I have confirmation that next week's NY Islanders at Montreal game (March 15) has been added to the HNIC schedule to be part of a three-way split telecast!
Chances are the Isles\Habs game will be shown from Quebec to Newfoundland and the Ottawa Valley, the Canucks at Stars game to all of western Canada, and the Sabres at Leafs to just most of Ontario, but not Ottawa.
The complaining is working, keep it up so the Boston at Montreal game on March 22 will have a wide distribution.
Thanks for the info CBCnutcase. Please keep it coming.
You are welcome.
The distribution of this Saturday's games is now on the CBC website and is as follows:
NY Islanders at Montreal - Ottawa area, Quebec, and most of Atlantic Canada. Vancouver at Dallas - Prince Edward Island and all of Western Canada.
Buffalo at Toronto - just Ontario, minus the Ottawa Valley
I was told by someone at the CBC that the reason P.E.I. gets the Canucks\Stars game is because Brad Richards is playing who is a native of that province.
It was great to see the Habs getting wider distribution this past Sat. and the Leafs regionalized. Good on the CBC.
A buddy of mine phoned the CBC on Monday to find out what will happen this Sat. March 22 and this is what he told me.
The decision will be made sometime late Friday. It all depends on the standings come Friday, if the Bruins have a chance to tie the Habs for the division lead or if Boston is battling for 6th, 7th, or 8th spots and the Canadiens are still #1 in the NE division, the Bruins\Canadiens game would probably go national. It also depends on how close the stinkin' Leafs are to 8th place and if Ottawa is first in the division. Hopefully, Toronto loses their two games this week and the Flyers get a win so by Saturday the Leafs are virtually out of it.
Don't the Leafs play the Sens? With them both being Canadian teams, I could see them getting nationwide with Mon/Bost getting Quebec/Atlantic canada.
The original plan was for only the province of Quebec to get the Bruins\Canadiens game but I have been informed that just as GoHabsgo247 said, Quebec to Newfoundland will see this game now. Many people in Atlantic Canada have been complaining all week for the Bruins\Habs to be seen in their area because a month ago, the same area saw the Bruins\Leafs game on HNIC instead of the Flyers\Habs.
