I'd love to see them play the Bruins. After all, the Yankees opened up the Stadium in 1923 against the Red Sox. With a win. The House that Ruth Built can be the House that Henrik Closed

Plus I would like any chance to see a team from Boston lose. Screw them all.

Boston v. Rangers would be pretty cool considering the Yanks/Sox rivalry. it would give the NHL a ton of attention to have it in Yankee stadium. Much more attention than having it in the Big House. It would probably be the last professional sports event in yankee stadium and thats a big deal.

I really don't care if the Isles are in it. It would be cool to go to an outdoor game but i would try to get tickets no matter who is playing. to be honest i don't even enjoy isles/rangers games in person that much. I'm a complete nervous wreck the entire time and usually NVMC is about 30-40% rangers fans which is much less fun than a game where all the fans are isles fans. There's so much at stake in isles/rags games that i can hardly sit there and enjoy it. If that makes any sense

Rangers v. whoever would be fine to me.

Are you worried that the Rangers can't get 56,000 of their own fans into Yankee Stadium?

I can understand the Rangers being a little worried about having the Devils there in January 2009 though. Marty Brodeur might tie or set the most prestigious goaltending record in NHL history and upstage the Rangers' special day. However, that isn't likely at the moment because Brodeur is on pace to finish this season with 539 career wins, 12 shy of Roy's all-time record.

I think the NHL would shy away from NY/NJ just because it disengages so much of the rest of the league/countries.

Plus an in division game under that pressure and hype could get nasty. Fun as far as Im concerned, and good for the game imo, but the NHL seems reluctant for that these days. Man Rangers Flyers could be psycho

Who has a mass rabid fanbase willing to bus, fly, tunnel to NY for the Snowbowl 09/

Toronto, Montreal

The only problem with doing it at Yankee Stadium -- it would be a little odd to have the last sporting event at the Stadium be a hockey game. I'd gladly go, but it would certainly not be the ideal. Giants Stadium, I think, would be better.

The NHL would love to have Rangers vs Bruins at Yankees Stadium.....

I think it would be cool if the Isles donated 1 home game vs the Rangrrs each year to be played at either Shea or Belmont Park.

Even if Brodeur did break a record on the day of or the day before the game, it wouldn't upstage a massive outdoor Rangers game. No one cares about the Devils enough in the area to have it be a bigger event than a Rangers outdoor game.

don't get it twisted...

without the corporate tickets, Rangers have only about 20,000 fans in the area.

if that.

Then I would refuse to watch just like I did for this year's spectacle. I don't appreciate the league jamming him and his stupid team down our figurative throats.

Haha yeah I guess it doesn't make sense to market the league's best player.

I don't think they'll put the Pens in the game two years in a row if they do it again.
