Gameday: Wild @ Sharks - 2004-01-24

The Wild have not been good on the second of back-to-back nights, but this time they're coming of a pretty poor showing in Anaheim, and they travelled today instead of last night, so perhaps we'll see a different team come out to play.

With Marc Chouinard activated last night, Kyle Wanvig was sent back down. Probably a numbers thing again, but I haven't read anything that sounds optimistic about him coming back up soon (also haven't read anything that sounds pessimistic, either). Maybe the Aeros can get a much-needed spark from him.

I'm hoping to see Burns play this game, and Bouchard, and Michalek.. basically all the young guys. I think we're going to lose, but look OK doing it. 4-2 Sharks.

Oh, sounds like Gaborik's out of this one for sure, but may be ready to go in LA.

Sharks are playing well this season. I'll go with a 3-1 win for SJ. Minnesota goal by Schultz.

Is that some reverse psychology?

I'm looking for some fire tonight from this team so I'll go with 3-0 SJ. Hopefully I'm wrong, but it sure seems like we're on the verge of a less then pleasant stretchof games.

Apparently the reason Wanvig was sent down was the #'s thing again. ie: Wanvig was sent down so the Wild could hold off making another decision on our congestion problem. I'm guessing they'll wait until we're officially out of the playoffs to actually make one one though. Which in my estimation should be a handfull of games before the season ends.

Well, I think it could've been worse. There were some moments of pressure, at least. A hot goaltender is a hot goaltender, whether he's making amazing saves or not... it's that psychological aspect...

Oh, and I really like the way that Michalek kid moves the puck sometimes.

The stats say we had 24 shot on goal last night. That seemed generous to me but it was a better game then the previous night against Anahiem. If you can call being shutout a better game.

Watching the game on tv last night, or any other night for that matter, our announcers sure get excited about shots that are hitting the goalie in the stomach. I wouldn't exactly call hitting the goalie in the midsection a good shot. I havn't heard of too many shots that have gone through somebodies mid-section. I would imagine it would be an extremely painful event.
