CKAC: Streit Looking for 3yrs/2 mil per

Per CKAC, Streit's agent Pat Brisson is looking for a 3 years, 2 millions per year deal for him.

Not from Brisson's mouth, quoted as saying such.

Thoughts?

That's fair, for a UFA and for a guy as versitile as him. I'd do it.

I'll give him 1.5 the first year, 1.75 the second and 2 millions the third year.

is looking for...

offer him 1.8/y for 2y or 1.7/y for 3y.

he's still young and has been in the NHL for only 3 years now.

That's a decent price for what he brings to the game. Especially with Dandenault's (1.7m) and Bouillon's (1.875m) contracts.

2 mill is not a bad deal. I'd do that.

That would be a great deal for the Habs...i'm surprised that's all he's looking for.

I would put Streit in the same category as a Brian Pothier or a Tom Preissing, and they are both making more money on longer deals (4 year deals for both, i believe).

If Gainey can sign Streit tomorrow @ 6 mil over 3 years they he should do it.

Fair enough. Silent Bob, stick out your poker face... we want Streit for 5 mil (total) for 3 years.

Exactly. He's just .125 more than Bouillon and 3 times better.

Do it up.. this time the money would be well spent.. Unlike Dandenault and Bouillon who're making wayyy too much money.

Brings more to this team than the last two UFA that were signed to 2 million per year contracts, I have no reservations him getting a deal like this.

If Bob didn't see a problem in giving 2 million to uselesski I don't see why he would have a problem giving that to Streit.

I would give it to him for sure. The bozo on CKAC, Jean-Charles, wouldn't, but I would.

Random Fan: "Streit, 2 millions is too much. 1.5!!"

Same Random Fan Circa THAT year: "GIVE 5 MILLIONS TO THEO!!!! EVEN, 500,000 MORE THAN HE ASKS FOR!!!"

36 points last year and on pace for over 50 this year...Look at what those numbers go for as a UFA for d-men.

Wow.. he's only looking for $2M?

I know Gainey doesn't like signing deals through the year, but I'd do this today if possible. That's a bargain.

He has like 9 PTS in his last 8 GP... he's one of our best players, IMO.

I'd of given him $2.5M per.. maybe more. This is a bargain.

way too much, if we do that we will only be able to offer Lecavalier $23M/yr not $25M/yr

I'd certainly sign Streit for that
