Ed Moran's Profile

I'm up in Wilkes-Barre for the night, watching "Daily News Live," and it just struck me that in profile, Ed Moran is a younger version of Peter Gammons. He also hands out information the same way.

Man, it's uncanny.

I like Ed, he's soft spoken at times but he knows what he is talking about and he's in touch with the team. Perhaps the best part of him is that he doesn't get caught up in rumors or hype, take for example his comments about Robert Esche. I don't see the profile, but I agree with the demeanour, he's got some Gammons in him.

Having it in Philly would make sense. We can't have that.

I should head over and say hello to Tommy....

He has everything in perspective, and he's totally right. I'm a huge Niittymaki fan, and I want him to get every opportunity he can to prove himself, however, that isn't happening this playoffs if Hackett isn't back and Esche happens to get hurt as well, I don't want to see Niittymaki in the playoffs, unless he's the Finnish coming of Patrick Roy, but he has to play for us to know if he is or not

In all seriousness though, I think by March 1, if Hackett is not back, it is imperitive we acquire another goalie, who is here to be the backup, not a starter, and not wanting to be a starter.
