This is an absolute ridiculous statement, and quite ironic considering the contingentof Kovy-haters was huge, and now you'd be hearing that he should get the C and is the real Habs leader.Well,as far as leadership go,I'd take Koivu in a heartbeat,it's not even close.

It's his overall game that is starting to decline and should be questioned, not his leadership and heart commited to the team.

Trading your captain while he is in a slump and your team in 4th place is a very intelligent move. Only good things may come from it.

I really feel uncomfortable with these type of threads, and I expect next week that Koivu will register 10 pts these threads and people who post them will disappear.

They'll bash big time on every aspect a player a day, promote him to God-Status the next.I will support Koivu on any circumstances,I just hate the general annoyance the bandwagon mentality brings.JJ68 was bashing Kovy until this season, now he's praising
him to death.Bandwagon mentality.

Ok that settles it, this guy is just a joke account. He's not serious.

Did you just start watching hockey this year? I understand that it can be difficult for new fans to understand how the game works. Maybe you can try playing beginner hockey down at your local rink...Take some skating lessons, read a few books maybe...Could help you sound like a bit less of a doorknob.

Heart in the right place Habsolutly...

Tell me Kovy hasn't been a better leader on the ice this year than Koivu...

And I bet Begin has some extend of leadership and his heart commited to the team....still if his game starts declining...adios...

Leadership is changing hands right now, like it or not....either way Koivu cannot permit himself to decline if he wishes to remain a Hab.

just my two cents

Souray was like that, scoring a lot but being far ahead in the minus... I don't get why it would be okay for Koivu to do the same thing...

Heard the boos. Knew this would be here.

Koivu's linemates had not been doing a whole heckuva lot lately, too many times do they completely whiff on his set ups. Not a lot of guys showed up tonight, so singling him out is laughable. It was the inevitable let down at home after a good road trip... and plain ol let down at home.

I have still have faith in our Captain, he'll turn it around.

What you want to me get? That it's right for a first liner to be ahead in the minus because he plays against the top lines of the other teams and because he plays a lot and up 20-30 minutes per game? That power players goal don't give you +1? Share your thoughts because your post seems all about irony and sarcasm.

I assume it was because pleks is not very strong on faceoffs.... I thought he was on the ice but as a winger... guess I was wrong

**** off with comparing Kovalev and Koivu, like Kovalev didn't have a dismal year of 47 points.

Give me a break about what Koivu's 'on pace' to get. He'll get 65-70 points this year.

Apples and oranges. While Begin's a warrior,he's a replaceable player and his departure won't affect the team itself.Even if Koivu is starting to decline or not performing to his usual standards this year,he's still a very solid and contributing player. At a certain extent,he's more likely probable to stay here than Begin.Koivu
has more considerable impact on the Habs than Begin on every aspect of the game.

Koivu can't play 60 minutes anymore. Him on the ice on the last minute of the game made me nausea.

all i know is our next captain should be a defensive defenceman. Not having the pressure to put up points when your a captain probably makes the job easier and you'd get less heat when underperforming.
