I was talking about the overall home performances by the Team, not just last night. They boo'ed in many games, last night was just another one. Get over it. We are talking about professional athletes, not pee wee hockey players. They can deal with the booing. Do you honestly think that it prevents them from sleeping at night?
No, but it prevents players from signing here as free agents.
Do you honestly think they like getting booed when they're trying hard in a close game? Why not just give some credit to the opposition who played a heck of a good road game instead of acting like the sky is falling everytime we happen to lose a game (Heaven Forbid)?

Free agents ala Briere who refuses to sign here, because of booing, or whatever, keep stay the **** away from Montreal then, they are not welcome. I never expect any major UFA signing in Montreal, and never will.

I think our patience with Kovalev is going to change some minds in the UFA market. I honestly think Calgary is a much more dangerous Free Agency market than Montreal. Andrew Ference took less money instead of a NTC to stay in Calgary and right after, Sutter packaged him off to Boston. I think that looks a lot worse than some booing at home.

One can hope.
However i feel the biggest reason many don't come to Montreal is the wives and family concerns. I like many don't know a lot about Quebec and the education system and everyday living however just thinking about the differences could deter a lot of players and their families. Its not a knock on Quebec just human nature of fear of the unknown.
How many wives are willing to have their husband come home and say, "we are going to Montreal so start brushing up on your French, look into the school system, be prepared for the weather and media. Look we could have went to New York or even Florida, the money was the same but i would just prefer Montreal."
I don't understand the booing at all. I could understand it if the Habs were really sucking but overall, the Habs are playing quite well, and definitely at the higher end of expectations in terms of the standings. Yeah, not a great game last night (obviously) but the booing was bogus and certainly isn't going to help the Habs improve their play at home.
Any fans who booed last night are losers imo and not true fans.
it was an extremely fristrating game, even more than the rangers one for me, and frustration in a crowd especially at the bell center will end up with boos.
I was at the Bell Centre that night, I found it pretty amusing hearing the boos, I saw it coming.
It's really easy to understand the equation of why people booed.. First, a lot of them paid high prices just to see the young sensation Sid the Kid play. They were already frustrated about the fact that they will not see him. Add to that the Habs' pathetic showing and brutal performance that night and you get x2 angry fans. Add to that those season tickets holders who are tired that the team always play like crap at home and you get x4 angry fans.
Habs team is a team with no drive. And when they don't play by their system they're soft and uninspired. And they don't fight and punish the opponant either where something like this for instance would at least make the fans leave home happy(well we sucked but at least we got great fights tonight). Near the end when there was no goalie, you could feel the Pens were beatable but the Habs seemed like they had got drunk the night before. Instead of a last minute rush they were skating like their average age was 85 years old. I was awful.
I thought we actually played okay last night. Not great, but we've seen far worse. However, the last five minutes were a complete disaster and I have no problem with the fans booing when the Kostopoulos line (why?) was hemmed in our own zone for 30 seconds with three minutes left in the game.
There really wasn't any heavy booing during the game. I think it was justified at the end of the game because let's face it -- it sucks paying to see your team lose most of its home games.
I think the same as you, we just lacked finishing. The chances were there, it's just Sabourin was there to make the saves or the Habs shooter shot the puck wide or on the goalie. Kovy missed 2 great chances, only by himself he could have tied the game.
