One of the main reasons our team is not playing well right now...

Shanney is hurt, and is in return hurting this team. That, combined with a Chris Drury that has STILL not found his game (I love ya Chris, but this is getting ridiculous...) and a shakey goaltender at the moment is REALLY hurting our team. Shanney, as a true vet, needs to step up and say "I am hurting our team right now..." and sit out until he is healthy.

Right now, I would do 3 things to hopefully jump start these Blueshirts. First, I sit Shanney and move Drury to his spot on the roster. 2nd, I put Dubinsky on the 2nd line, 3rd I call up Dawes and Anisimov, and play lines of the following:

Straka - Gomez - Jagr

Avery - Dubinsky - Drury

Dawes - Anisimov - Prucha

Hossa - Betts - Orr

I realize this will never happen, but that's what I would do to try and jump start this Rangers offense, and hopefully jumpstart Chris Drury.

Umm, I hate to be the one to break this to you, but Dawes is already playing on the NHL team, he has been since January 7th when he was recalled.

Bleh, I haven't been able to watch many games with my new work schedule. In that case, I would just call up Anisimov, still apply the same changes. I caught the first half hour of Sunday's game and didn't even see him on the ice, was that line just not getting playing time?

and the dawes - dubinsky - prucha line is the only hard working and productive line over the last few games. I would definitely not break them up

they didn't get much time at all. as for Anisimov, I would leave him where he is. people that follow the Pack might disagree with him being called up, I've read a lot of reports of him not playing particularly well in Hartford and having some trouble adjusting to the smaller ice and what not. Regardless, I have high hopes for this kid, and the last thing I want is for this kid to be brought up to a sinking ship and possibly have his development stunted, attitude change for the worse, or God knows what. Leave him where he is for now. I think it's time we concede the season and start building for next year. Jettison whoever doesn't fit into the long-term plan (Jagr, Straka, Shanahan), accumulate as many prospects and/or picks as you can get for these guys, cut your losses, and look forward to next season. This team isn't going anywhere anyway, at best we'll make the playoffs and get knocked out early.

Why break up our current best line (DDP)?

You don't break them up, you give them more ice time. Give them a shift or two as a unit on the PP as well.

Show the players you will be rewarded with more ice time if you play well and you will lose ice time if you slack.

I'm tired of seeing threads like this. The reason the team is loosing is not because of one players injury or even two players sub-satisfactory performance. This team has more then enough depth to succede. They are lazy and depressed. Theres no room for that **** in hockey. Winners dont pout. They turn things around. Unfortunately I think most of our "past-winners" are no longer in their prime.

So many threads on the same subject, however..

It's Renney. It really is. Everything comes back to him.

The Rangers coaching staff needs to sit everyone down and read this to them:

There is no main reason why we are playing so poorly. Its more like a combination of lack of good scoring chances, no one going to the net to screen or get rebounds, poor coaching, lack of ANY discipline, the coach not showing control by not having any consequences for poor play and no discipline, a few players are injured and trying to play through em, a 4th line that plays way, way too much, a defense that doesnt shut down the middle of the ice, lack of physicality (we were out hit drastically yesterday), a system that does not fit its personel and shaky goaltending. I just realized how many problems this team really has. When you make a list of all the problems this team has, you realize why they have been terrible. You are not gonna win much with all those issues.

In goals scored, not in points. Shanahan's also played 200+ more games than him.

Jagr's a lot better than Shanahan offensively, but I think you already know that.

jagr is a better offensive player. But we all know Jagr likes to be center stage at msg. this makes it hard for Renney. Renney has 4 stars(Shanny,Avery,DRury,Gomez) that cant seem to be able to play with Jagr.

Gomez is making it work for jagr, not jagr helping it out for gomez.

in the begin of the season, Gomez played with shanny and avery and it was working.

unload on Jagr, straka, malik and mara

run these lines as a team

Avery Gomez Shanny
Callahan drury prucha
Hossa dubinsky dawes
HBO line

"Getting rid" of players isn't quite as easy as you think.
