is there an elegant trade that could makes sense for both.

Jagr to go to the city where it all started - and he may revitilize when Crosby comes back and we get Malkin? Does Jagr have no trade clause?
until Crosby's return Jagr gets to chummy up w/ Sykora.

Ok that's too much to hope for at this point but whatabout.....Staal+whitney?

we get couple good kids more?

The two least likely places for Jagr to ever go are the two places he's already played. Did not leave either city under good circumstances and the fans in both places hate him rabidly.

Have u ever heard the crowd when Jagr touches the puck when ever he plays the Pens? Jagr is here 2 stay. We need him, things will get better, its still January.

maybe Kris Letang, Angelo Esposito and a mid round draft pick for Jagr the rental. I don't see either Stall or Whitney and definitely not Malkin.

Trade Jagr within the division, to the Pens?

Interesting.

That might be the last place I would want to see Jagr. Especially when the Rangers, and you know they would, meet the Pens in a do or die game or playoff series and Jagr would DESTROY US

As much as I'd love to see Jagr shipped out of town, as I've been saying since the start of this season, Pitt is not trading Staal, Crosby, or Malkin.

...I know, I've been hearing the same thing since October. When do you say enough is enough and it's too late to wait any more?...I've yet to be answered.

I don't want to touch espo with a 10 foot pole.

Why would we trade Jagr there when we could clearly take advantage of the Pens misfortune and gain some ground in the standings. Thinking this season is over is just stupidity.

99% sure we're not trading Jagr to Pittsburgh anyway. Just figuring out relative values out loud to try to bring it back into what I would think might be realistic. I thought of inserting Christensen's name for Esposito and maybe moving the draft pick up to a 2nd or 3rd but went with the former.

With Crosby out there is no way the Pens would move Malkin. The last two games he's been absolutely phenomenal and last nights battle with Ovechkin was probably my favorite game of the season to watch. (..yea that includes Rangers games too)

If we're ever going to get Malkin, it'd be at the end of his next contract with the Pens. I think he'll end up signing a short but expensive contract so he can move somewhere and be the superstar in a few years. He's really shown that he can be the force on a team now that Crosby is out, so I think he'd fit in well with the market around here if we could land him later on. No chance this off season though.

Our absolute and only chance would be a package deal involving Drury or Gomez plus a scoring winger (which we don't have) and a 2nd for Malkin and possibly Armstrong (who is injured anyway).

When would it not be stupid to consider that the season is over? When would it make sense to start dealing your assests for future assests before they become UFAs at the end of the season while you're golfing and everyone else is in the playoffs? If you were too miopic and didn't see it coming before the trade deadline and squandered your final opportunities to make something positive out of a failed season, wouldn't that be "stupidity"?

one thing we dont need is a center, the only centerout there now that i would try to get for the sole purpose of playing with Jagr, is Sundin
This is a huge stage for Malkin, he can really shine in Crosbys absence.
I do think Malkin will be a Ranger some day........

I also see it happening if Tyutin, Cherepanov, and Anisimov all stay around

the pens are in trouble for 2 months.
Sykora would get along with Jagr to bridge the gap until the kid returns.

yes Pens could be formidable with Crosby, Malkin, Jagr.

Long shot! of course it is.

it's fun thinking outside the box - that's why we have this darn place to go to.

but - it would be fun offering them Jagr for Malkin!
