I posted this in our Sabres/Stars GDT, but I figured I'd post it here for sentimentality and superstition reasons.

-----

Tonight, we see one of the greatest NHLers of my time honored in New York in Brian Leetch. This man was dominant in his prime, and truly a joy to watch. He was second-to-none in terms of his fluid skating style, he was a phenomenal on-ice leader, and was truly the definition of a "catalyst" from the back end. He could shoot, he was positionally sound, and he had the speed to recover from anything and everything. His performances in big games didn't go unnoticed, and his personal run in '94 was one of the more captivating, amazing things I've seen in hockey history.

His #2 goes to the rafters tonight, and frankly, it's about ****ing time. He was liked by all of his teammates, and remained a class act from the beginning of his career to the end of it. Truly a joy to watch, and I can't wait to see the ceremony. Hopefully the Blueshirts put on a show for him.

The ceremony will indeed be emotional, and will be an historic Garden event, for the players, for Brian and his family, but most of all for us FANS!!

2 points also on the line tonight!!!!!!!!!

LET'S GO RANGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For a hockey player, there has to be no greater honor than to have fans of opposing teams recognize and respect you.

Yeah thats very nice, and very truthful. Leetch was probably the most underrated dominant player of his time.

He is seriously one of the best American born hockey players ever IF not THE best american born defenseman ever.

A guy like that, who had a career as great as Leetchy did, simply commands respect from hockey fans - no matter your team. Anyone that watched him play can agree with that. One of the more dominant players of the 90's.

I know ESPN are crap, but still this burns me up seeing this:
The big story (main picture) isn't even Leetch's retirement, instead they have a little side picture. The worst part? It's him in a Bruins jersey. That just ticked me off. That is all.
LGR!

What a night this will be.

I'm already getting emotional about it. Another great moment in MSG and Rangers history, and well deserved.

This really is as close to Leetch retiring as a Ranger as we could have hoped for, and I'm fully confident that MSG will put on a hell of a show (when have they not?)

Let's Go Rangers!

Tickets are really dropping on ticket exchange and stub hub.

I saw a set for 130 each in the 300's a little while ago but they were gobbled up.

Sellers are starting to panic. There are over 200 left.

Does the guy selling his seats for 11,700 actually think someone will buy them?
