I guess Bruce Garrioch voted 100 times on it.

I've always had the theory that goaltenders were unimportant in hockey (hence the parade of mediocre ones playing in Boston).

I'm so glad that my premise now has precise empirical evidence to support it.

I'm quite sure that Roy, Hall, Sawchuk, and company would be quite happy not to make that list.

Look at the top 25 defensemen of all time. Shore is 17 and Harvey and 16.

Better yet Luongo is the ninth best goalie of all time.

Nothing like uneducated polls

In all honestly, our own poll section is pretty bad too. The only place I consider Polls to count around here is in this section.

LaFontaine, ranked 24th, just ahead of Denis Potvin, is apparently Canadian too!

nothing is more laughable than the best swedes list. There is a pretty big oilers bias on the list I have noticed. I noticed when I saw the best fans list and then saw besta rena I thought how much should I bet that Rexal is number 1, and sure enough, there it was. Rexal is a dump. I can't believe there is a poll for this...

Best young NHL player

4. Jordan Staal
5. Eric Staal
6. Ales Hemsky
8. Rob Schremp
13. Dion Phaneuf
15. Kyle Quincey
16. Mike Richards
HAHA. Jordan Staal over Eric? How old is Hemsky? Does "young NHL player" mean not retired? Schremp at 8. five spots ahead of Phaneuf? Kyle Quincey at 15. ahead of Richards? Or even at all, for that matter. Stastny snubbed entirely, as well as Wolski. No Vlasic, no Kopitar, no EJ, no Kovalchuk (he's like 4 months older than Hemsky)? I don't even know what to say here. Really don't. I think the members on this board are the only people on earth who know anything about hockey.

Edit: It also seems that Evgeni Malkin only recently passed Jordan Staal on this list.

2. Helmet
5. Gloves
7. Elbow Pads
11. Puck
12. Stick

That's pretty much all you need to know about the quality of voters for the lists
