I would, he's like Claude Lemieux.

I would rather him on the Habs than the Habs have to play against him, especially in a playoff series.

No cause he'd stir ****, and you'd have Billy and Jimmy fighting every night.

I'd take him in a heartbeat despite his antics.

Yeah he's pretty good. He and Sergei don't exactly love each other, though.

Eh, did you see what happened when Sergei hit him (a real solid check) in the CHL last year?

I don't think Sergei would appreciate it.

It was a great check, but it was illegal. Sergei jumped on the ice too early.

Downie shouldn't have had his head down, but there's no doubt that Downie and his teammates had something legit to complain about.

I dont know his attitude in the locker room but if he's not a living generalized cancer, I would take him on my team right away.

Well let's wait until Downie becomes a prolific playoff performer who does far more than just stir **** before we liken him to Pepe.

Seeing him mock the other guy's cut yesterday was classic Lemieux.

He's off to a good start though and he was a monster in the WJC and OHL playoffs.

I'd take him... maybe a lot of people hate him, but after seing him with team canada in the world junior, the guy plays with heart and gives everything he's got.

NO. But the Habs should go for Riley Cote. Lappiere can play Downie's role. I seen it PEI during Lappy's years there.

I wouldn't want anyone who's crosschecked his teammate's teeth out on the Habs.

He's not that much of a factor that your going to be effected by him in a 7 game series. If he pulled a bone head move on the habs top players one of either Kostopolous, Cube, O'Bryne or Komisarek would put him in his place.

Everyone loves a Tucker/Avery type on their team, but a player like Downie is a cheap shot artist looking to injury, not to aggrevate and get under your skin like real pests.

He is going to pull something worse than Chris Simon has, watch and see...it is going to happen sooner than later, he has a screw loose and something bad is going to happen to someone because the NHL hasn't put a leash on this idiot yet.

To Downie's defense, he crosschecked Aliu. Everyone would love to do that.

You think so? I honestly don't see it. Simon was always the biggest kid on the ice, even in the NHL. A goon who could score goals.

Lemieux used to score 20/30 a season on a regular basis... lets wait before comparing the two...
