Just a note: While the old Continental Airlines Arena (and Meadowlands Sports Complex) was indeed built in re-claimed swampland, the Devils new arena is in downtown Newark, nowhere near any swamps.

i hope none of the Habs gets mugged on the way to the game...

just poking some fun at the area TB sheets, not to hard with the rep Newark caries, probably not as bad as it's said to be

I like your positive attitude...but I gotta tell ya, we are snakebitten by the Devils...I think Brodeur could beat us with his eyes closed, it's amazing how well he plays against the Habs...Their team always outhustles us too, this would be a bit of a measuring stick if the Habs can get them to OT...or a shootout...

Should I even bother watching this game? We go from a team that we absolutely own to one that has owned us for like 8 years. Hopefully the team can exorcise the demons from the past.

I will go out on a limb, and a prayer, to predict a 4-3 Habs victory.

Zubrus-Elias-Clarkson
Brylin-Madden-Gionta
Asham-Pelley-Rupp

White-Mottau
Oduya-Martin
Vishnevski-Rachunek
It baffles me how the Devils can with such a mediocre defense.

But then I remember. Brodeur...

Defenceman Patrice Brisebois had an MRI on his left foot Monday where doctors found two broken bones. Brisebois says he'll suck up the pain so he can play. He could rest the foot but then he'd lose his game-shape which is something he'd rather avoid. - TSN
maybe more games without brisebois.

Habs players should just picture all of the Devils wearing Bruins jerseys. It just might work.

He's going to play injured too now? Come on, I don't think anyone wants a 60 or 75% Brisebois on the blueline.

I wouldn't say ugly, but she's not a girl I'd particularly go for.

Lots on the line here, a big game. I think we'll see our best effort. the Habs have to beat these Atlantic Division teams for their mentality. There's going to be a lot of Atlantic Div teams in the playoffs and no one should feel they have an edge on the Habs. We're just as good, if not better. They're well-coached (extremely disciplined) and have great goaltending.

The best strategy for us would be to avoid the penalty box (Habs seem to have a hard time doing this against NJ) and out skill them.

Well, she looks better than the one in your's. I don't know, I hate blondes but I have a thing for redheads.

3-2 Habs SO, BTW.

Oh, no, go right ahead. I felt the need to point out what I did point out - but I also figure that the jokes about playing in Newark would be just as intense as playing in a reclaimed swamp.

Feel free to disparage Newark. I just felt that everyone should at least be correct in disparaging their current home rather than their former home.

Lou Lamoriello has made it quite clear since he came into his role as GM of the Devils in 1987 that the team he has used as a role model to build the Devils is the Montreal Canadiens. He always points to the history and traditions of the Canadiens as something that he has endeavored to instill in the Devils as an organization. It's why they look to Montreal's organization for coaches and all, and why the team has only made one alteration to it's uniform in 26 years - including no 3rd jersey and no design change when the RBK Edge systems started this season. So it wouldn't surprise me that the whole team takes it as a collectively personal goal to beat the Canadiens for Brodeur and Lou every time they play.

You always hurt the one you love.

I have zero confidence but on the other hand it's an interesting challenge for the team.

The real important stats is our record in NJ in the last 5-6 years.

1-21-4

This is insane.

1 freaking win in the last 26 games in NJ.

It's worse than the Bruins in Montreal.
