Sharks/Blues GDT

Perron is scratched. Which is excellent strategy considering he played strong enough yesterday to earn a shootout attempt. Considering that this team is currently struggling offensively. Considering the last time we played these Sharks, they shut us out. Considering that while Perron may not have scored for a while (7 games), he's still been creating chances and 8 games ago equaled the season total in goals of the guy who is replacing him tonight. Oh well I guess we'll be saved by Glumac.

Simply freaking Brilliant

Good early kill by the PK. Blues look like a team playing their 3rd in 4 and the Sharks do not.

At times fairly physical but not too much offense for either side. 8 shots total between the teams. Mayers had a huge hit. The Sharks may try to go after Jackman at some point later in the game.

Maybe he's being showcased for a trade? Or getting time because Walt is on the way out?

Excellent backcheck by Tkachuk on the goal.

Attempt a hook and coast and give up on the play

Perhaps a plausible explanation...respectfully submitted for consideration...the Sharks have a pretty big, physical forward corps. Maybe the brass didn't think this was a good matchup for young David?

Apparently it's not agood matchup for the forwards we dressed either. Scoreless in our last 5 periods against the Sharks.

Yep indeed...hard to score when you spend 15-16 minutes of a period in your own zone. SJ pretty much handed it to us in that stanza.

In the good news department, Manny is keeping us in this one...he looked solid last night, and has played great so far tonight. The rest of the gang...not so much.

Indeed. He is the sole reason this is only a one goal disadvantage. I guess going into the 3rd there's a good news/bad news situation.

The good: It would be very rare if the Blues ended this game without being given a single powerplay.

the bad: We're still talking about our powerplay

Edit: Right after posting that I found out we're starting the 3rd on the advantage apparently thanks to the scuffle at the end of the period

Good idea. Better give Steven Jackson a call too to see if he wants to replace Tkachuk.

I'm getting sick of this crap.

OVer the allstar break it's time to hold this team accountable. This team needs a trade to shake things up.

"Whatever it takes?" How about some goals... How about playing your actual talent even if they are young...

Andy Murray earned our respect for getting the very most out of a not-so-talented bunch last season. Sitting at the allstar break this season, does anyone actually believe that this is all this group is capable of. It's too early to start calling for heads, but it's time to start asking questions

So Big Joe kneels on Jackman's back and punches him 3 times, Jackman punches Joe 3 times, we get the extra 2. Then Walt throws 1 punch and takes 3 and we get the only call...
