Benoit Brunet as a journalist

Anyone have a video of him during the skills competition night? It was so funny...you could see that he was just not in his place asking questions to the players. At least, he's alright in studio...haha

Yup... and I can't believe that a guy who spent 10 years or more on the road, talking in the day to day in english with his team mates, etc... (and even more so when he was traded to Dallas) has such a bad english..

And that coming from me, "ze francophone".

Brunet was such an injury prone player... did he hurt himself on the ice yesterday while asking questions?

He was just nervous guys, give him a break. He's improved a lot since he's started and he's going to keep getting better.

He improved a lot in studio, and he's getting good at it, but you can see that he can't play the role of journalist, as he's not one. But as an analyst, he's good.

And he was always cutting the interview with merci...

The funniest interview has to be the Phaneuf one, there was so much akwardness in that interview. Bruet wasasking somewhat decent question. And Phaneuf was like : Yeah I decided not to shoot but to deke. Yeah my hands are hidden deep within me.

Then Brunet realising that he probably just went through only half the time allowed: ..... hesitation.....hesitation again.... So how is your season going so far like you wanted to. Phaneuf : Yeah we're in good posture and only going uphill.

Hahaha not exact quote, but it looked like that anyways, poor Brunet was so funny. Phanuef would not cooperate at all.

He didn't look like he could even be a studio guy when he started. Give the guy some time. He'll surprise you. He's a smart guy, he'll be rocking interviews in no time.

He's going to be the next Yvon IMO.

I can't understand why Brunet work on RDS. First, PJ Stock is better than him talking french. Near all his comments are dumb. A guy like Quintal could be really better. I see him interviewing players yesterday and he seems like a big joke. All I hope is someday RDS realize that he can't do this job because it's a little bit sad to see an ex-habs been that awful on TV.

If Brunet left and was replaced by someone, you'd all be at the new guy's throat within a week anyway.

I enjoy listening to him and Demers during the Habs game intermissions. I think he's decent. He knows his stuff, and he was also the only one in the RDS crew that actually believed that A. Kost was gonna have a good career.

But interviewing someone isn't really easy, and you need some experience to do it. He just should not be put in that type of situation. After all, it's not really his fault.

But anyways, he still gave me a few laughs...

Brunet is pretty decent in studio, he improved a lot this year. He gives good comments.

He's probably better than Renaud "Answering Machine" Lavoie... "so, you guys are ahead 3-0, was that part of the game plan?"

Are you actually saying he's going to be like Yvon or the guy who's gonna replace Yvon.

Because I just pray it's gonna be the latter rather than the former.

At least Benny's hockey will surely not be as bad as Yvon's.

They're the total opposites of each other. Brunet who's got a good hockey head, does good analysis, but has horrific communications skills and Yvon who's only attribute is his communications skills, having a college degree for that (and hearning his stripes has a hounding PR man in the hockey world), but for hockey analysis... let's just say Martha Stewart knows more about fiscal responsability than Yvon knows about hockey.

Yvon is in the Hall fo Fame as far as I know your not. How can you say he knows nothing about hockey, is the committee that voted him also know nothing about hockey. He has forgotten more about hockey than you will ever know

No, he's not...check the last post :

He still know his hockey, but when he's live, he seems bored, and say weird things. I'd like to see their set up because I'm an analyst for my university team, and I have to say that it's not that easy sometimes...

The bad thing with him as an journalist is that he can't get injured and miss big parts of the season.

hahaha that's gold. Journalism is based on how good one is with PR, not knowledge anyway.

Like Pierre Foglia said a few years ago: "Tremblay and Pednault don't know hockey, but they know a lot about the ***** around hockey"
