I am impressed with the Flyers

I have to admit, I am beginning to love this team. They have come back from being dead last to being a contender for the conference title. The team has so many great young players, such as Downie and Richards.

However, I am concerned about one thing:salary.

Kimmo Timonen makes a pretty hefty sum, i think around 6mil, and hes gonna be around for at least 2 or 3 more years. Guys like Richards, Lupul and Downie are going to be wanting amazing salaries. The only problem I see with this team is that they may lose some of these guys due to salary cap issues.

Nonetheless, I must admit I am very suprised to see how well you guys have done. What has improved with this team? Also, How has Timonen done?

Richards will certainly be looking for a HUGE raise REAL soon, we're in trouble cap wise with him alone!

fortunatley since the NHL is doing pretty well the cap should continue to rise little by little each year. homer's the man with the plan. ive liked all his moves so far to this point so i have no reason not to trust him.

I suppose that somewhere points should be giving to you for trying, however, I really can't bring myself to respond to this based on that sentence alone. Grab a newspaper, read nhl.com every now and again, and join us in the 22nd Century.

I heard a rumor that he's asking for 12 years, $69 million. The nerve of some people.

seriously fos, the flyers cap situation won't be a huge problem.

nhl revenue is up, the cap will go up X$, Vandy will be gone, kapanen will retire, hatcher will be gone and we will probably trade knuble for a pick, so we will be sitting ok.

Newer posters will learn quickly that we are a sarcastic bunch here, for the most part. We're irreverent, and I think we have the best group of posters at HF. And definitely the most fun.

Why did we sign Brad Richards for 12 years?

That sucks that we might lose Richards.

Oh well, at least Kimmo is gonna be around for 2 or 3 more years! Who knew!?

Sorry buddy...I know you're already taking a beating here, but come on?? If you want to discuss something, make an effort to get your info straight. There's a thread stickied here with the Flyers salary numbers. There are also a couple of websites out there with numbers for the whole league. I like this one.... http://www.nhlscap.com

I dunno, it may have something to do with having all those problems signing Mike Richards.

That was fun.

Posting on these boards without being properly informed about the topic already is pretty much self-suicide. That's the way it was, the way it is and the way it's gonna be and IMO the way it should be.
