I just saw EJ warming up on FSN. Doesn't guarantee he'll play, but c'mon....

Jiri Tlusty is up playing on the top line with Sundin and Antropov.

IMO it likely was - but from the angles they had there was no way to conclusively say. I thought Kariya deflected it in and they were going to look at him.

Whoo! What a play by McKee! Wow, what a difference it makes with a defenseman who can carry the puck into the zone!

Wags needs to go for the poke check, not do a Manny impression.

Jackman's fault on both of those goals.

You just have to love the Blues "please don't score" 3rd period defensive shell...

Oh and by the way, anyone notice that Leaf rookie Tlusty is getting plenty of shifts in the 3rd period in a tight game. Furthermore he's playing with talkent like Sundin...

On the bright side, David Backes...apparently he took the "whatever it takes" campaign to heart

its a winner! we still need to play better in the defensive zone, but a win is a win.

We controlled this whole game except for a 3 minute stretch in each period. AM better sit Backs again and play Wags, but somehow I have a feeling his back-to-back giveaways will prevent that.

At least in 30 days we won't have to worry about that. For one of the _ackman's is gone.

A good way to start off again. I'll take 2 points on the road any time. Nice to see Backes contribute on offence again. Maybe he'll start a hot streak. Same for Tkachuk.

A Leaf fans perspective on the game.

1. Love Jamal Mayer. He's a relative unknown commodity around the league, but I can tell you he's one of the hardest workers on the ice night in and out.

2. Brewer is one tough cookie but he has hands of stone.

3. It is a treat to watch Paul Kariya skate.

4. Didnt notice Jay McKee too much.

5. Legace was outstanding!

6. Shout out to Jamal, again!
