Two in a row, and 4 out of the last 5 is a good start. We got three back-to-backs in Feb, which will be a big test. The 5 day break after next weekend will be a nice rest before the real strect run.

I agree. Some fans on here are so pathetic. It was the same story last year. Anyone care to dig up some old threads from around this time last year before the Rangers turned it around? I'm sure they would be great reading!

I actually started this same thread last year around the same time. Not consciously, but again just a needed balance to the board at that time imo.

The net in general is a place where people feel a freedom to vent more on the neg than the pos. I get sucked into it too at times. We all do. The ebb and flow.

Still.........its a choice.

this could be a huge weekend. isles just lost to the canadians, hopefully the devils continue their slump against the kings and the bruins got the red wings. if we could win tomarrow we could gain lots of ground.

3 in a row. All on the road.

All rather impressive wins as well.

4-0 over the Flyers

3-1 over the Devils

5-3 over Montreal

totally OT:

My boss just gave me two club seats sec 19 (in the bar) for the Devils game on Friday vs the Ducks WITH pre-paid parking, face value 200 each.

I have a cousin whos a huge Devils fan and i want to give them to him because i HATE the Devils more than any other franchise.

But i was thinking... should i sell them? Burn them? go with a ducks jersey on ?

I could probably get good $$ for them.

What would you do?

Sell them and don't let your cousin know that they even existed.

As of game 56 this season, the Rangers are 27-23-6 (60 pts)
As of game 56 in 06-07, the Rangers were 27-24-5 (59 pts)

Beginning in March, with 13 out of 17 games being divisional showdowns, the Rangers still have a very good chance to take the division. By comparison, last season the Rangers only had 9 divisional games in the last 17.

I did a little comparison of the Rangers record vs divisional teams this season, and then the 1st place Flyers record in the same situation to date.

Rangers:
12-6 against Atlantic Division teams
in wins they outscore opponent 38-16 (four shutouts)
in losses they get outscored 18-7 (shutout once)

Flyers:
9-7-1 against Atlantic Division teams
in wins they outscore opponent 41-16 (one shutout)
in losses they get outscored 34-11 (shutout three times)

Not very shocking numbers, but just a little assurance that we are still very much in it, if that wasn't very obvious, and actually have better odds of both making the playoffs, and winning the division than we did at this time last season, despite eerily similar records. So despite these losses to basement teams, western teams, and mediocre performances in conference, if we take care of things within the division come crunch time, we'll be fine.

Oh man, for 400 ya gotta sell 'em unless the karma thing's going to really kick your ass.

As far as the positive thread goes, last night was a tough one, but I see it really charging the batteries for the next few games.

I haven't been to the Rock. Since they were gifted I would graciously accept and go check the place out...

If your feeling real edgey wear a Matteau Jersey...

The fact that we're pretty good in our division (aside from the Isles this season) is a positive thing being as the last 10 games of the season are against division opponents.

If we take care of that while holding ourselves up beforehand we should be pretty good for the run.

Dave Maloney Appreciation:

Man listening to him call the game on 1050 is always enlightening.

The definition of a non homer, tells it like it is.

Pretty brutal on the team, or at least totally unforgiving with his analysis. Especially on night like tonight. But such honesty and candor with his opinions is a good thing. Maybe Renny could just have the team listen to his "in game" analysis. They would sure get a clear image of what they should be doing differently.

I believe his contribution to the Ranger Universe is a most positive thing.

Just tried Troeg's Nugget Nectar Imperial Amber. Very sweet indeed! And with a 7.5% alcohol content, packs quite the wollop for an ale.

Now THAT'S positive!

I agree. Something weird happened to the radio feed for the Ducks game. It just cut out.
