+ Renny, in playing Spidey in Washington, did something very unconventional. At least for him. He thought outside the box for a change, and that is a very positive thing for a coach to be able to do....

Not a bad result. The webslinger played well, and the Rangers pull out a pt on the road in a game they could have just as easily won.......

Coach needs confidence to take those chances. IIts good for keeping everyone sharp imo.

Essentially five Rangers rookies in the lineup and playing good hockey:

Callahan
Dawes
Dubinsky
Girardi
Staal

Gotta like that.

The first phase of the rebuild which should secure a competitive Rangers future is coming together nicely.

We now have a young, very good to franchise goaltender in Hank about to be signed to a long term deal.

We have two pretty good goalie prospects in Montoya and Wiikman on the farm.

We have two good young defenseman in Girardi and Staal with the Rangers and at least two more in Sauer and Sanguinetti coming up thru the ranks.

We have four good to very good young forwards in Dubinsky, Dawes, Callahan, and Prucha with the Rangers. We have at least a few more coming up thru the ranks in Cherepanov, Byers, Moore, etc.

IMO, for the Rangers to strengthen the depth chart, they need to add a few legit top six forward prospects with some size, speed, skill, and grit. They also need to add a legit top four defensive prospect that can hit hard legally and with regularity.

A pretty decent turn around from this time four years ago.

If we play like we played today, we can easily get the next 13-16 games we need.

You know EASY probably isn't the word I'd use. The Rangers are in the middle of the pack . Teams above and below all so close.

One game at a time.

This place is so much more exciting when the Rangers lose.

Anomalies don't concern me. Especially when something like blowing a 5-0 lead has a .0002 chance of happening.

One game or event does not make a trend. The Ranger are in 6th place with breathing room. The very cerebral Tom Renney will use this game as a teaching tool for the playoffs.

a valuable point on the road against a team ahead of them in the standings = positive

This game has VALUABLE lessons for this team to TAKE TO HEART

VERY VALUABLE INDEED IF THEY HAVE ANY CHANCE TO MAKE A REAL RUN

They had this game, and they let it go. How dramatic. Could it be more dramatic?

They will have to own this, and remember NHL games are SIXTY MINUTES

This game has VALUABLE lessons for this team to TAKE TO HEART

THANK YOU

im getting bombarded by my friends right now but im ripping thier teams apart (2 are isles fans LOL - 1 is a pens fan - and 1 is a habs fan)

1) I didnt see the third so i cant actually comment on the full game, but all is not lost, we played amazing the first 2 periods.
2) We're in 3rd and 6th respectivly, im not worried.
3) the Pens will start choking, again.
4) the Devs are riding marty, who can be beat which has been shown this season.
5) Isles are toast almost.....

and 6) the best is that we have a 4 day break - there gonna come out flyin!

I pretty much agree with you, I just hope part of Renney's teaching method is making those players skate until they puke in practice tomorrow. I think the Rangers will come out of this ok, I just hope we don't meet Montreal in the playoffs, if we get there.

I guess I can still try to be positive. I mean, it can't get much worse then tonight. Tomorrow will be a better day. If they come out of this game with something, well maybe it won't be a complete loss.

On the positive note, Prucha could be ready to go on Saturday and I don't think I've ever seen the kid not give 110% for the full 60 minutes(even if he only plays 8-11 minutes of it. Plus he's good in the shootout.

at least we got a point out of this game. It is also a lesson to the team that they can't stop skating because of a lead.
