Florida-Calgary Proposal

To Calgary: Jokinen and Horton
To Florida: Tanguay, Huselius, Nilson, draft choice

Tanguay and JOkinen have been bandied about a lot about going in opposite directions, but how about Horton? He is young, (22) and has already scored 30 goals and racked up 60 points in a season. I can see huselius asking for a huge contract, and horton is already signed at 4 million for the next six years. Plus he is more of a calgary style player. I guess keenan never really coached him that long, but keenan does like jokinen for sure, and he is known to not be a big huselius fan either. I would sure like to see this happen for the flames sake. Any thoughts???

I don't see why Florida would do this.

Haha, wow, thanks for the laugh. Florida wants to trade Horton why? Maybe they should throw in Boumeester too?

I actually think this thread should be locked down for being in the "proposal that is so bad and so ridiculously one-sided that it is only going to lead to flame wars" category.

unless that draft pick is some sort of mystery box that contains all of Calgary's picks for the next 28 years this trade wouldn't even be thought about from Florida's end.

I'll trade Pittsburgh Vancouver's mystery box for Whitney, Fleury, Staal, Malkin and Crosby. Deal?

I'd like to see Phanuef and Iginla in Panther jerseys. So how's about we trade you Weiss and Salei and a draft pick for them.

lol...Wow!

Sorry. He is.

Add Bouw and its somewhat fair.

Huselius imo can put up 120 in a season. Calgary wont trade him.

Not about the original proposal, but what would Florida fans be looking for for Stephen Weiss?

I've always seen him as a player who would excel on the Flames since the day he was drafted.

For all you fellow Simpsons fans:

You can have the Jokinen and Horton set where the lovely Smithers is standing or trade it all for whats inside this box....

THE BOX....THE BOX.

What'd you have in mind? I mean, I'm a Florida fan so I'd like to get as much as posible for him. Realistically, though, is it possible to have Juice coming back for him? Lombardi?

is Weiss still playing center or has he been converted to the wing?

Wouldn't you ideally want to trade someone who is underperforming on a line below where he should be playing to a team that needs someone in that position?

Whoever gets delegated to the second line left wing in Calgary is bigger trade bait.

2nd + prospects for whoever gets left out in the cold in Calgary.

If you want Jokinen and Horton, you've gotta give Phaneuf and Iginla and we'll work out the rest of the details from there.

He's centering Horton and Booth.

Works for me. With Matthias, Repik, and possibly Frolik set to come up soon, I'd be willing to let Weiss go, especially for Tanguay. I think he'd do well on a line with Olli and Matthias.

works for us too IMO... Weiss isn't Tanguay but is a capable 2nd line player... it shed 2.15 million in cap space and moving up in the draft will only strengthen our prospect pool as well
