Sharp or Dumont- ?
Dumont, Sharp is having a good season with the goal scoring but Dumont is more consistant and a far better playmaker.

Arnott from a few weeks ago:

Quote:
"We've got to sign him,'' Arnott said. "I mean just for me personally, the chemistry we've created together is incredible. There's just no question they've got to get him signed.

"He's such a great guy in the dressing room and personality-wise to have on the team, and he's been one of our best leaders. It would be real sad if we did lose him and hopefully they'll get something done before the end of the year.''

That's hardly funny. Players were morons to let their greed cancel an entire season of hockey....and end up losing the Cap battle anyways, along with a discount on their current salaries. Morons.

I'll be the first to inappropriately compare this signing to a signing from my favorite team.

Vanek at $7.143 million looks pretty good right now.

Good guy at a good price. I don't know, what more can you say.

a lot of teams had their eye on him, a quality forward who won't command your entire cap.

Hell of a deal, he is easily a 5-6 million dollar guy on the open market.

Good for JP. Great guy, glad to see him succeeding and getting nicely rewarded. Good job to the Preds front office for retaining him (and not sending him off as a rental).

As I suspected, he has a NMC with the deal.

You have to remember that the Sabres were really pushing the cap that year; even after walking away from that award, they still went into the season just under the cap and had to put Connolly on LTIR to get breathing room.
