Rumor I heard

Some of you guys know me and that I know Scott Gomez and have posted info before mostly about him but this time I have some for the Rangers. I want to say before I post this that I don't really trust this dude and have never heard of him before but what happened is that he called my dad and they were talking he told this stuff to my dad. Now he could be making stuff up I don't really have anything saying he is or isn't. So I just want everybody to take this as a internet rumor and that it probably won't happen.

Within 2 weeks two things will happen

1. Management changes
2. There will be a list of players and they will be in 2 categories. Players the rangers want to keep and players they want to trade.

I wasn't privy to any other info than that it will happen within 2 weeks. If any of the mods want to close this it's fine but I hope with posting my Gomez stuff over the years everybody will be fine with it. But like I said I am not 100% sold on this dude as I don't even know who he is. Other than he supposedly talks to Scott all the time. And I don't think he would say something to my dad unless it was credible as it would be easy to check out.

Yeah probably. But I was hoping with the stuff I posted before it would be OK. I would like to think I have a good reputation with info.

I agree...

that there will be a list of players they would keep and players they would trade. I also believe there's a list of players they want. And I believe this is done every year. But because they're available, doesn't mean the right deal will come along. The next few weeks will determine who goes and who stays.

Yeah I'm sure there is a list of players they want. To me with the list they are supposed to have it sounds like they are going to make big changes. Or atleast some changes.

I'm assuming that the list mentioned would be beyond the normal, if this guy found it worth mentioning. Maybe to the extent that if we aren't winning, previously untouchables are now touchable?

Of course, if we get on the 66% winning streak we will need to get a good PO position, I doubt ANY changes are made.

Interesting. No need for a closed thread here, really. Speculation discussion, that's why we're here.

Could it be Renney? Could it be!?

Yeah and I hope the info does pan out. That's who I am thinking I think it makes the most sense.

I honestly think the team has got to TOTALLY tank in the next two weeks for there to be a coaching shake-up. I don't see Slats pulling a Lamorello on Renney.

I think they've been doing a pretty good job at tanking so far. If the team starts to play like they did last night that would be great.

Keep it comming!

The only reason to close the thread is due to server space; there can never be any copy rights/slander problems with a trade rumor like this.

8th place and rising doesn't strike me as tanking. Granted, they are not playing to potential, but they are in the hunt.

it's kinda funny that it feels like we are in last b/c we have underperformed sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo badly but yet we are the 8 seed in the playoffs. Really odd season.

Well they did have some basketball dude judge the Allstar shootout contest. Maybe it will be that other dude.

If Dolan fires Slats, I certainly wouldn't trust him to find someone competent to replace him!

I don't think it's him as the last two or three years the Rangers have made the playoffs.

Kind of seems like a weird time for "management changes"

Renney made the Playoffs the last two years also.

It can't be Sather, though. That would involve doing something. And Dolans don't do things.

I think there's what 30ish games left. But I do think if it is 2 weeks that might be a bit too late.

Yeah but sometimes it's easier to fire the coach. I'm not entirely sure by what's meant by management so we'll have to see. It would be kind of funny if it ended up being a scout or somebody like that.

i think this is just something every team does in evaluating what trades they want to do, and who they are willing to give up.

the so called "untouchable list" if you will.

i dont think its anything more than that.
