In November the Rangers were on a very nice streak 10-3-1. However at that time the Rangers had huge problems on the offensive side of the puck and they were relying heavily on Henrik. I think now things have changed after the long rough stretch.
Dubinsky at the beginning of the season was trying to find his way onto the team. He has come along very well and is now one of the best players on the team and gets better every game.
Dawes has settled in nicely and have been getting and capitalizing on his chances when they arise and been playing nicely on the defensive side. Heck he made a couple good defensive plays tonight.
Prucha's starting to wake up a bit he has gotten quite a few more points as of late. He's been solid on defense and the forecheck all season, now his offensive game is starting to come around a bit.
Gomez has been hot for a while he just keeps getting more comfortable as time goes on.
Jagr has been playing his heart out no matter what anyone says and he has been much better with Gomez as his center the 2nd time around.
Straka has been the glue for Gomez and Jagr. A healthy Straka is always important to this team.
Drury is starting to show signs of his "clutchness." He's been on fire the past couple of games, been doing it all.
Shanahan may look slow and old, but he still finds ways to get the puck into the net and create plays. You still gotta love the guy.
Anyway all this blabbering is basically saying that if the defensive game can hold up, I am confident that this team will score more goals than they did in November and they can really start to tear things up. The players are much more comfortable with each other and are really starting to click. Maybe it really did take half the season for the chemistry to form .
BTW, anyone see how awesome the PP was when they scored tonight? That's a powerplay! They were moving all over the place. The Devil's pkers were scrambling all over.
Good to see what the coaching staff is preaching finally getting through to these guys. Hopefully they can keep it up.
